Frozenares (last syllable pronounced like 'mare') are a powerful breed of horse Pokégirl. During the revenge war, these pokegirls were frequently seen as the steeds of Huns. Leaders of several prominent tribes of Huns rode them into battle. Using their ice abilities to do massive damage, these pokegirls together created intense, gusting snowstorms and thick snowfields. Shortly after the Revenge War came to a halt, Frozenares and Huns drifted apart, although many stayed together as partners. Nomadic groups of these pokegirls attacked the homes of people trying to live in that area, stealing food and moving on, earning them a bad reputation that, for the most part has faded. Still, many remember that they were a deadly force in the Revenge War, and those of the former Chinese Empire have a great distrust of both Huns and their mounts.

Frozenares are metamorphic pokegirls that have both a bipedal taming form and a tauric battle form. In both forms they are large statuesque pokegirls that usually have some form of muscle tone to their bodies. The degree of musculature varies between individuals but, at least in their taming forms, they tend to be more athletic looking rather than being unattractively muscled. In both forms they typically have icy blue skin, although pale whites have also been seen. In their taming forms, they are usually between 6 to 7 feet tall. When they change into their tauric forms, as well as gaining a lot of muscle mass in both their upper bodies and their horse-like lower bodies, they typically gain a few feet in height, growing to about nine to ten feet tall. In this form their lower bodies become covered in a silky layer of fur that is typically pure white. Their hooves and tails in this form are usually the same color as their body fur. They typically have red or blue eyes that glow white when they are using their powers or experiencing strong emotions. Frozenares tend to have breasts that range between Low C-cups and large DDs. Most members of this breed tend to have hair ranges in the lighter colors. Most commonly, whites and blues have been seen.

In battle they typically charge in like tanks, firing ice beams and wielding ice swords while trampling anything that gets in their way. Their bodies, in their tauric forms, radiate cold like most ice types. They usually enhance this cold with rime and other cold generating attacks to deal extra damage to enemies that get into melee range. Frozenares have the unusual ability to maintain their full speed and traction in snowy and icy conditions. They are also are immune to snow blindness and other vision impairing effects that may come up do to weather conditions. While they are easier to get than Unicorns and Rapitaurs, they aren't as popular as them. Not being as fast as other equine pokegirls, nor being as strong as Clydesdames, they make up for this in sheer endurance and determination. Being able to run all day mixed with their fearless attitudes makes them perfect combat transports in both arctic climates as well as in temperate zones.

Frozenares are typically much more calm and stoic than Ponytaurs and their other evolutions. They usually aren't as concerned with being the fasted thing alive; feeling it to be nothing more than an amusing diversion when there isn't anything else important to do. Their stern demeanors combined with their statuesque builds are often intimidating to some tamers and pokegirls. They are still capable of feeling emotions like normal but they tend to have a hard time expressing themselves or smiling. While Frozenares can usually get along with most other pokegirls, they often times get annoyed with overly cheerful or bubbly pokegirls. Whether or not they can make a good alpha or beta depends on the individual but most prefer to follow rather than lead. While their battle forms actively radiate cold like most ice types, their taming forms are safe to tame without creams or salves. Caution is advised though, due to their high strength, restraints are recommended to avoid injuries.

Feral Frozenares tend to be more savage than most ice types. Found often in large herds in colder areas. It is often dangerous to approach a feral herd as they are prone to attack any who approach. They are difficult to tame from a feral state due to their tauric bodies. A strong fire-type is recommended to be a part of the attempt at taming one out of ferality, as they will automatically revert to their two-legged form if they are too hot. They are also commonly found in the company of wild tribes of Huns as both transports companions. Like when trying to catch a wild Hun, tamers that want to catch a Hun’s Frozenare companion usually have to earn the tribe's respect, showing that they value their Harem and are brave before they allow a Tamer to claim one of their own. If a tamer is willing to take both girls into his or her harem, he or she will win great loyalty from both girls. Thresholds are very rarely seen but have been noted in girls with heavy Ponytaur and ice-type ancestry.
