    Rare is the Mongoosed who survives to her mid-forties and begins to experience menopause. Rarer still is the one who takes it well. A Mongoosed who reaches menopause starts feeling her age all at once. Her hair and fur turn white (or in rare cases, black), her eyesight starts to fail, and her once-famous strength fades. She has become an Ermine, a fickle, faded shadow of the glorious being she once was who is obsessed with recapturing her former glory. Black-furred Ermines are called Sables instead.
    Ermines retain a surprising amount of their combat effectiveness in the evolution from Mongoosed. Or at least, they would if they weren't so vain and upset that fighting would ruin their hair and makeup. They're a bit more enthusiastic about sex combat, since they somehow see it as a glamorous thing to do, but still get frustrated when it ruins their good looks. Most Ermines are used in show business or as pets and bodyguards of celebrities, which suits them well as both roles involve a lot of strutting and grooming and showing off.
    It shouldn't be surprising that Ermines enjoy Taming. This is especially true if their Tamer takes the time and effort to flatter them as much as possible beforehand to get them into the mood, and possibly presents them with some fancy jewelry (the diamonds do not have to be genuine to be a girl's best friend). However, most Tamers find their constant demands for new clothes, cosmetics, hygiene products, and age-defying creams irritating, and hock them at the nearest fashion center as soon as possible.
    Due to the circumstances needed for evolution, Thresholding into an Ermine is impossible. Feral Ermines are sometimes seen as matriarchs of packs of feral Mynx forms; they apparently demand the first bites of every kill their cohorts make, and spend the rest of their time obsessively grooming and "collecting" shiny items such as pebbles and the accessories of Tamers and tamed Pokégirls. They can be lured into a capture by offers of shiny jewelry, even if it's just a string of polished bottle caps (however, they demand nicer finery soon after being Tamed).
