As far as people know, this pokegirl was a secret project that was lost near the end of the war. The breed was first discovered by a tamer who was hiking in the mountains when she came across a pokegirl who appeared to be a lone Ice Maiden, but she lost track of her because of a passing blizzard. Several days later, she came across a natural hot spring and found the pokegirl bathing there. Feral Ice Maidens would avoid warm baths because it weakened their minds and powers, but this one seemed to enjoy the heat tremendously, which was why she seemed so confident when she had no allies to watch out for intruders. It was only when she walked out into the cold air and the mist she summoned froze onto her body that her true breed was revealed.

Despite being part Bug, they can pass as human as long as their ice-blue antennae are hidden in their hair, which ranges from blues and purples, with human colors being uncommon. Their eyes can range in color as well but they turn icy blue when using their powers. Their bodies are always soft to the touch, lacking any sort of protective chitin shell and they aren't quite as cold as other ice types.

When the pokegirl requires a shell for protection, they can use their Vaporous Aura to summon water that they have absorbed and freeze it using a mix of Hydrokinesis and ice techniques. Through this, they create a hard shell that can be repaired instantly after taking damage. This shell also acts as the focus for their bug and ice techniques, as the ice can be infused with poisons from their nails or shaped into claws or spikes as needed. If they aren't wearing clothes, many will go with a light shell by default or they can craft a robe or cloak made of soft snow bound together by their will, which can quickly dissolve into water or harden into solid ice. But as they put more time and effort into their shell's creation, they trade their Enhanced Speed and Agility for Enhanced Defense of an equal level. This allows them to balance their enhancements for various battles. The form of this shell can range from crude blocks of ice to works of art, depending on the skill of the Chrysalis.

What is interesting about the Chrysalis is how many will do battle. They can generate a water bubble with a gaseous core, which is frozen over and put under immense pressure. These can act like an ice element Bomber or Saturation technique that can freeze the target upon detonation rather than burn them. But their true purpose is to be used as sticky bombs and land mines rather than long-range artillery like how the Komotar does it, as the Chrysalis lack the range or explosive power. Their command over the ice lets them detonate their bombs remotely by having the shells crack and explode, spraying shards of ice as the gas rapidly escapes. The Chrysalis was used to plant fields of mines to take out soft targets trying to pass through cold regions. They were very effective in their work as many soldiers and tamers didn't know when or where the next bomb could be put. Those who used fire types to melt the bombs on the ground would suddenly find them set in the trees or under a layer of dirt. Some have even used the ice to bind traps together, set to go off if the ice is removed, like tripwires attached to a tree or rock. They are durable pokegirls when put in Sex Battles because of their ability to lower their temperature and hold back arousal but a Fire type can melt through their defenses and their only sex technique, Chilled Arousal, is near useless against such an opponent.

Because they don't lose their intelligence when warm, they tend to stick close to Fire type pokegirls or those with soft fur, using them for warmth. They tend to enjoy the warmth because it makes it easier to feel pleasure and it removes the chill of their bodies, letting others enjoy their presence. All Chrysalis are used to the cold, but they use it to keep their emotions under control, helping them to remain in one spot for days on end if they have to by slowing their body and mind. Although they cannot go into true hibernation, they can slow down and focus on just their powers and their surroundings. While they don't have enhanced hearing, they can sense minute vibrations through their antennae as they wait, using the ice to follow their target's movement until it is close enough to one of their traps. But while they can follow movement, they cannot locate a still target. Pokegirls who fly, run very fast, or move silently can get in close if they know where to find the Chrysalis, giving them a distinct advantage. Because their bodies have slowed down, it take a couple of minutes to properly 'wake up', leaving the pokegirl sluggish and vulnerable to attack if exposed.

Ferals are usually found surrounded by ice mines for protection as they wait somewhere nearby, usually around an open path where prey will come by. Some have waited for weeks, surviving on a store of bark, sap, and roots, before blasting an intruder and coming out to feed on what remains. It's often difficult to find them when they are in hiding because they protect themselves under a layer of snow and ice and listen for intruders. They will only attack when they are threatened or hungry but will prefer to run and hide if they find resistance, quickly scattering mines around their hiding place to deter pursuers. Fire techniques are best against this breed as it will break down their mines and release the gas without detonating them, though some caution is still recommended if the pokegirl has not been found. It can also wear them out by forcing them to have to harden their ice armor over again as it melts and evaporates. Taming a Chrysalis out of a feral state is difficult to pull off as the armor not only protects them, but keeps their body dangerously cold. Melting the ice with soft fire techniques followed by Lust Dust will break their concentration, though cream may still be needed to make sure they don't freeze sensitive areas. Another option is to wait around hot springs, or even make one using fire techniques, as feral Chrysalis will willingly dissolve their armor if they can have a hot bath. This leaves them warm and possibly aroused rather than quick to panic when they realize they are being watched.

Thresholding into a Chrysalis is a tough process. It starts off as a bad cold as the body adapts to working in colder temperatures, resulting in a sudden loss in body heat. Putting the person into a hot bath can ease their pain and once their Hydrokinesis has fully manifested, the water will assist in creating a coating of ice. Some have died due to dehydration or sudden hypothermia during this process while those who survive are stuck in a cocoon of solid ice formed from all the water that could be pulled together. Once the cocoon breaks the new pokegirl will wake, fully formed. It's recommended never to break them out or melt the ice as it will force them to wake up and go into shock as their bodies struggle to adapt to the sudden change. Not many who are released early will survive the process because of the changes. They will only survive if they can be put back to sleep by freezing them.
