The Kamichu could make for a decent magic type stater if not for the rarity. Still, the breed is highly sought after for the same reasons many tamers with combat harems seek out an Eva, not for the breed itself but for its potential. All evolutionary paths a Kamichu can take wind up with a powerful magic pokégirl at the end of it, and few tamers realize the challenge of getting the line to that point.

As far as their physical appearance goes, the Kamichu does not stray far from the typical Very Near Human body type. Hair color may shift to more unnatural hues, though it is rarer to see the more outlandish colors that some other breeds possess. The same is true with eye coloration. Some Kamichu also gain markings somewhere on their face or body, though this doesn't occur often enough to warrant it being expected of the entire breed.

The only major behavioral change the Kamichu goes through upon thresholding is that they will at time become deeply introspective. When asked why, the breed universally answers that it is to discover a truth about themselves. What this truth is they would not say, though it would appear to have an influence on what breed of pokégirl they can evolve into. This truth is not always a positive thing, either. Sometimes the Kamichu will evolve into something she did not want to be, but eventually comes to accept it as her 'true nature'. It should also be noted that if an Everstone is used to prevent the evolution of a Kamichu, she will become deeply depressed. Many claim that it is because they are not reaching their potential. If evolution is prevented this way, the application of a Shiny Stone is required to trigger evolution again. The Kamichu will not evolve if the Everstone is simply removed.

What determines what a Kamichu will evolve to is not understood completely, but Researchers have gathered enough data to make their best guess.

If the Kamichu discovers a strong, good quality about herself, like kindness, the desire to help others or to make the world a better place, they'll most likely be set on the path to becoming a Megami. In order for her to evolve after this, she needs to learn how to 'hear' the cosmic awareness. The assistance of another celestial can help greatly in speeding up this process.

If the Kamichu discovers that she is very competitive, is arrogant, or enjoys fighting, she'll be set on the path to become a Neo-Iczel. After this point, she will begin to train obsessively, and seek out a fight whenever the situation is appropriate. She will evolve should she achieve a significant string of impressive victories.

The path for a Kamichu to evolve to a Demon Goddess is perhaps the easiest to discover what needs to be done, the pokégirl in question will be able to tell her tamer exactly what must be done. It's also the most difficult evolution to achieve by far. All records of Kamichu evolving to a Demon Goddess have involved a great deal of travel. The Kamichu will become aware of a number of different locations, seven on average. These locations always have a considerable distance between them, some tamers have even had to travel to a separate league for each one. The Kamichu must perform a specific ritual at each of these locations, the process of the rituals also become known to her along with the locations. Once all the rituals have been completed, she will evolve.

Finally, the evolution to a Youma is perhaps the easiest to achieve, though it is an undesirable evolution as often as it is what the tamer wanted. To evolve to a Youma, the tamer or pokégirl simply needs to give up on following any of the other paths. This could be due to impatience on one of their parts, or it could be acceptance of the easy way out. Some Kamichu and their other evolutions consider the evolution to a Youma to be a failure on the part of the pokégirl.

The Kamichu, if she relies on the attacks she learns naturally, will be a weak battler. In order to make best use of the breed in combat, a tamer should seek to teach them plenty of offensive, defensive, and support magic. This will put them at a level just under that of the Witch breed, overcoming the Witch with types of magic that correspond to their secondary typing. They have no specialties or weaknesses when it comes to sex battles.

Taming preferences and harem dynamics for the breed have to be handled on an individual basis.

The feral state of a Kamichu is close to that of the Ingenue and other very near human pokégirls, with one exception. They will exert a minor, passive control over whatever their secondary element may be. The behavior of this control will vary based on the pokégirl's emotions. A happy feral Kamichu with the fire element may have small, dancing, flickering flames floating in the air about her, while an angry one with the rock element may cause pebbles and smaller stones to fly at the source of her frustration. Also, it should be noted that any feral Kamichu encountered will almost assuredly either be a runaway or will have been separated from her previous master. The breed as a whole undergoes parthenogenesis so infrequently that many individuals that remain Kamichu become pokewomen without giving birth to a single litter. Those litters that are born are notably fewer in number than is seen in most other breeds, much to the frustration of most breeders.

The vast majority of the Kamich breed comes about through Thresholding. In order for there to be a chance to threshold, the girl in question must have a very strong history of magic types in her family, with at least some of the lineage coming from one of the four lines she can evolve to. The thresholding process is literally instant. There are no symptoms or warnings, the human girl simply becomes a pokégirl in the blink of an eye. Even if there are no physical changes, the girl is aware that she has transformed.
