Mostly regulated to assisting healer pokegirls during the Revenge War, the Miasmasaur still holds a similar position in modern times. This poison type dinosaur pokegirl is often used as an anesthesiologist, working along side healing pokegirls such as Cherries, Pollita, and NurseJoys to manage patients pain. The breed is also used alongside other venomous pokegirls for venom research, and to create various pharmaceuticals. Popular opinion on this theropod breed usually paints the herbivorous subtype in a better light than their carnivorous sisters.

Based on the small theropods, the Miasmasaur is broken up into two subtypes based on the breed's diets. The Carnivore subtype actively hunts when feral, and carnivores require their diet to be mostly (around 80-90%) meat in order to avoid malnutrition and other detrimental side effects. Herbivore subtypes require mostly plant matter (75-95%) in their diet to remain healthy. Small theropods tend to be defined as no larger than 1.5 to 2 times the average human height, making this breed have an extremely broad range of appearances. Like other pokegirls based on dinosaurs, this breed can assume a taming form as well as a battle form that appears to be the animal an individual is based upon. Battle forms typically range in height from around 3 to 9 feet (1 - 2.74 meters) regardless of the true heights of their dinosaur bases.

Appearances of the taming form vary not only on the animal base of the breed, but also upon the bell curve of Near Human to Not Very Near Human. On the very left hand of the spectrum, individuals have a tail, smooth scaled skin, and finger and toe nails hardened into functional claws. The addition of feathers or proto-feathering may or may not be present though feathering tends to be present on Carnivore subtypes. On the right hand of the spectrum, individuals appear to be animorphic representations of their battle form. Carnivore subtypes can range among any of the carnivorous species within the suborder Theropoda, though most often tend to be from the Compsognathidae or Maniraptora branches, most commonly some form of raptor or compsognathus. Herbivore subtypes tend to be from the Ornithomimosauria branch, most commonly Gallimimus or Struthiomimus. Skin colors vary from human standard to earthen tones and occasional brighter colors, height typically ranges from around 4-7 feet (1.22 - 2.14 meters) meaning that some individuals actually gain height when assuming their taming form. Hair may be actual hair or feathers, typically in similar tones as the breed's skin.

The breed notably relies on their poison typing in battle, with five available poisons to aid in the task; a damaging poison, a paralyzing stun venom, lust venom, sleep venom, or their numbing venom. The instinctual style of battle for any member of the breed is to poison first, then depending on the subtype attack (Carnivores) or flee (Herbivores). When pressed into battle, the breed often poison first then use their speed and agility to attack from afar with their areokinesis, though like the Flirt line, the breed is unable to fly without gaining extensive experience in the use of their manipulation of the air. Occasionally, the breed will dart back in to apply another Venom Bite, though completely changing out venom varieties takes upwards of 24 hours for the breed.

Patience is often the most attributed personality trait listed for a Miasmasaur, though typically this is more noted for domestics and thresholders, as ferals tend to fall back on their instinctual reactions. Carnivore subtypes tend to be described as having an overly curious mindset, investigating things that catch their attention; while Herbivore subtypes are known to be more cautious, preferring to ensure the safety of themselves and those around them. The breed as a whole tend to be good at thinking under pressure, with a quick wit to match.

Taming preferences vary, though a common complaint about the breed is the habit of dosing their Tamers with lust venom before sitting back and 'enjoying the ride'. Some carnivore types can be aggressive, though this doesn't seem to be in the majority of the breed. Typically, tamers should be mindful of the breed's claws until they are sure an individual Miasmasaur is able to control herself in the taming room.

Feral Miasmasaurs tend to follow their subtypes, with herbivores only posing a threat if they are startled in which case they tend to throw a few techniques before fleeing. Herbivore types are notably more flighty than their predatory sisters. Carnivore subtypes often have bounties, due to their habit of numbing sleeping prey and eating them alive. Tamed ferals are quickly brought to heel on the matter. Psychic and Electric types are often the best choice to capture a Miasmasaur, with Ice and Rock types making up a close second. Typically determining the subtype is the key in capture, as Herbivores can be chased down and subdued easily, whereas Carnivores have to be fought to be subdued. Like their larger cousins, the Zahngeist, paralysis first locks the breed into their taming form before paralyzing them completely, and the taming form lock lasts between two and three hours.

Thresholding directly into a Miasmasaur typically requires a family history of dinosaur breeds with strong flying and poison heritage. Threshold typically begins with the thresholder discovering their areokinesis first, leading to a mis-diagnosis of either being one of the Flirt line or an Airmaiden. The mistake is often quickly discovered, as the the thresholder also discovers the rest of their enhancements, leading up to transforming into their battle form. Once the battle form is obtained, the thresholder is considered a pokegirl, and is usually has to accept whatever changes to her body come with reverting back to their taming form. Thresholders are usually sold into medical or pharmaceutical corporations.
