One of the few evolved pokegirls near the beginning of the war that was not derived from the Ingenue troops, the Psivyx was originally used to deflect human weapons aimed at their fellow pokegirls as they all attempted to close in on the human lines of engagement, which was the breed's secondary role: fighting at melee range, where most human fighters had limited experience, less strength, and were slower than most of the pokegirl breeds created to fight them. Though records are spotty at best regarding just how they did this, it is well recorded that the breed did not do that well at deflecting larger human weapons... such as artillery shells. However, in battles where tanks and artillery were dealt with, and larger calibur weapons as a result were of no worry, the breed did very well when it came to handling the smaller weapons-fire of the human rifles, shotguns, and pistols. Despite the breed's apparent success on the battlefield, numbers remained low throughout the war of this pokegirl type- problems in production led quickly to newer, easier to create pokegirl breeds. Those of this breed that survived the Revenge War were few in number, and those that survived the aftermath could be counted on one hand, according to those who managed to capture one. It must be said that the word Psivyx is often misspelled as, or even known as, the Psyvix. Both names are recognized by all leagues as a designation for this single breed.

Upon evolution, the pokegirl tends to gain nine to twelve inches in height, and commonly at least a cup when it comes to their breast size, though larger increases have been known. It is, however, unknown as to how the larger increases are triggered upon evolution, though researchers suggest that a Psi Crystal that has had prolonged exposure to psychic-type pokegirls gather excess ambient psychic energy that results in the more drastic changes for the Psivyx' appearance. Often, these pokegirls gain strange markings reminiscent of tattoos upon their face, or arms, or hips, and in some cases all of the aforementioned locations. Psivyx tend to have fur and/or hair that are often unusual colors outside the human norm, such as purple, indigo, lavender, blue, or green, although reds and orange are also known. While ferals are most commonly found with fur, many of this breed are more human-like, with fox ears and up to five total tails (however, three is the average), while also being mostly furless (much to the delight of pet owners, who sometimes dislike how much some varieties of pokegirls shed their hair or fur constantly). Substantiating the researcher claims of the 'charged' psi crystal is that a 'charged' one often results in the pokegirl having four or even five fox-like tails, rather than the more common two or three. These tails are much more lightweight compared to the tail that a Kitsune has, though altogether weight the same as a Kitsune's tail. Oddly, this change in weight does not mean that they are less durable. Gaining minor telepathic abilities, the Psivyx breed is more known for being able to anticipate the intentions of those around them. Though some tamers attempt to compare them to Alaka-Wham when it comes to intelligence, researchers believe the comparison should be between the Psivyx and the Spidergirl instead, citing the similarities between the Psivyx' anticipation sense and the Spidergirl's precognition. However, even this comparison is flawed, as this breed's anticipation sense is empathic in nature compared to the Spidergirl's precognition sense.

Their minor telepathic and telekinetic abilities allow the breed to communicate mentally and to move things with their mind, but their it takes a deal of discipline to hone their minds and psychic abilities to greater strengths. As a result, many Psivyx lose their mischievous nature in favor of a more disciplined, mentally training, lifestyle. Playing chess, or go, with a Psivyx is not considered a good idea as a result for any humans. Their fighting strengths play to their ability to read their opponents' predicted movements, as well as to a focus that is specific to each individual Psivyx. The breed favors blunt objects when in a battle, often using staves, maces, bats, tonfa, or just about any other non-bladed weapon. Psivyx who have trained intently gain the ability to psychically create their preferred weapon, giving form physically and mentally to their choice of weapon. This weapon can strike even incorporeal or phased pokegirls. The breed is fast-striking and tend to use their weapon of choice just as easily as their fists and feet, but often are steady, careful fighters who wait out their opponents until they make a mistake before making a move. They are a defensive breed from the beginning, and waiting until an opening is the breeds' style. Sex battles are not the pokegirl's forte, but the Psivyx are quick learners and are fully capable of becoming excellent battlers in this arena as well thanks to their anticipation sense

In a harem, the Psivyx differs little from the Kitsune, though the main change is the lack of mischief that comes from the evolution. This does not encompass every individual of the breed, of course. Psivyx are not as popular as the Vixxen or even the Foxx, likely due to the Psi Crystal required to evolve the Kitsune into this form. They are, however, sometimes preferred due to her stronger abilities in general in combat, her elemental typing, and psychic abilities. They can even use fire techniques despite not being a fire type, but these techniques are typically draining in comparison to those used by actual fire-type pokegirls. As a whole, the Psivyx gets along well with most any pokegirls, although the breed is known for not getting along with the Trixie breeds. Their three specialty techniques include Mimic, which allows the pokegirl to utilize any technique used against her within the last few days, with the exception of additional fire- or ghost-type techniques. Those particular elemental techniques appear to be beyond the breed's capabilities. The second is Chi Weapon, which was described before as a psychically created blunt weapon that the pokegirl specializes in. The weapon itself cannot be released without the weapon dissipating, and so it is impossible to turn the weapon against the user when the user is not touching it. The third technique is Fox-Fire, which is exclusive to the Psivyx breed and is considered their signature technique.

Ferals of this breed area almost non-existant, as a result of the evolution trigger using a Psi Crystal. However, the few sightings have been just that, as upon sight of a feral Psivyx, the pokegirl escapes from the tamer. Most feral Psivyx sightings suggest that they tend to make their homes in woodland areas away from human civilization. What little else that is known is that the ferals live singly, unless raising their 'kits. Threshold cases are just as rare and tend to be a painful process as the human girl's body changes. However, a threshold into a Psivyx is not exceptionally difficult and in all cases it took less than three days to finish. Though not really a 'wanted' threshold result at first, most threshold cases choose not to undergo a level 5 cycle after the process is finished.
