There were victories over the pokegirl forces, though early on these victories were sometimes short lived. One of the stories that survived from early on in the war is the 'Retaking of Fort Bragg'. After being routed from their stronghold, the human forces redoubled their efforts, and fought off the smaller number of what are now known to be rock and ground types with the aid of salvaged firetrucks. This victory was short lived, as the ignored 'statuary' that didn't scan as explosives surprised the mixed band of civilians and soldiers and retook the fort. The survivors of this battle retold the story and the Marble breed quickly lost their effectiveness as humans demolished any female statues they came across with long range explosives.

Ranging in height from 4 to 6 feet, this breed has a very interesting range of near human characteristics. Those that appear more human have coloration similar to those of humans (including the human range of skin tones) with the exception that the breed's skin is glossy and hard to the touch as well as the hair being one set piece. Stone shades and coloration mark this pokegirl as different from humans. While this usually separates the breed into a bell curve spectrum, the Marble breed is able to slowly alter her appearance to fit with her preferences. This means that an individual pokegirl can go between the spectrum of very close to human appearance to appearing to be completely stone, including the entire eye being a stone color. The process of going from one end of the spectrum to the other takes about a month, though smaller changes can be made in days, such as adding an inch to the breed's 'hair'. Though this breed does not possess the Youthful enhancement, these statuary pokegirls do age differently from the more human standard of sagging skin and wrinkles. As Marbles age, their bodies begin to take on a weathered appearance, as that of a true statue that has been exposed to the elements. Very old individuals often have a pitted and eroded appearance, and even the Flake technique or their advanced regeneration does not remove this.

Popular myth is that everything about this statuesque breed is slow, from movements to thoughts and reactions. However, Marbles are just as quick to action and thought as humans with much the same range of personality. Some constants to the breed are a tendency to freeze when surprised instead of starting or shouting. This rock breed has consistently been tested to not have a fight or flight reaction, but rather a fight, freeze, or flight reaction. Tamers are recommended to recall their pokegirls in the event of a needed retreat, as sometimes the freeze reaction overrides the flight reaction. Another noted trend in the breed is a more observational outlook on life, though some members of the breed have been found to use their ability to literally blend in with the background for eavesdropping or pranking purposes.

While this statue breed of pokegirl can take quite a few hits as well as having the strength needed to do serious damage, many of the breed's techniques are designed with total immobility in mind. Sometimes referred to as 'the sniper of rock types' Marbles fight best when able to meld with stone and utilize their techniques from a safe area. A favored tactic is to utilize stone meld, wait until a foe is close and not paying attention before rising from the ground to strike with Quick Attack and follow up with Vice Grip. Against ferals and to protect private locations this method works very well. However, in official battles, this breed needs to develop a different set of tactics, though with the breed's use of Flake they can make formidable combatants, able to repair up to 40% total body damage. Understandably, this breed is often employed in private sectors as guards due to their living statuary status.

While this breed can naturally learn how to soften their bodies for taming, learning the Self Soften technique takes time, leaving many members of the breed with rock hard skin and specific taming requirements. With the breed's hardened skin, the sense of touch is dulled, only regaining human level sensitivity when in contact with live plant material or water (or through use of the aforementioned technique). This means that taming thresholders or newly caught ferals should be done while in the water. This ability also makes the breed capable sex battlers unless pitted against plant or water types.

Due to the breed's normally decreased sensitivity, taming is usually done while utilizing Self Soften or within the confines of water as noted above. Due to this dulled sense of touch, when the breed can feel normally, individuals typically revel in sensations, making them very easy candidates for multiple orgasms. While preferences vary, many are capable of ignoring painful treatment should they choose when not confronted by water or plants or their pokegirl counterparts.

Those of the breed born in the wild or allowed to regress to their feral state often sport the less than human features of their breed's variable spectrum, including eyes appearing to be fully stone. The breed can eat a variety of minerals or mineral rich foods, a favorite being the various forms of rock that give the breed their name, though in addition to Marble, other favored minerals include granite, quartz, and other igneous rock types. Due to this diet, damage to buildings made with limestone or granite based concrete is often attributed to this rock breed. Typical behavior of the breed includes seeking out areas with high concentrations of their favored mineral foods and eating quietly there. This mainly sedentary breed tend not to attack unless attacked first, preferring to freeze in place and allow most ferals to eventually loose interest. As with all pokegirls, caution is still advised for the breed.

The transformation into a Marble is a jarring experience for Thresholders, beginning with an urge to eat minerals or mineral rich foods. After an approximate week of slowly dulling tactile senses, their flesh literally starts cracking and peeling off. Underneath lies their new stone skin, and the transformation into a pokegirl is complete. Many thresholders are sold into guard duty or living statuary gardens, or alternatively shipped to ranches.
