An artist pours some of their life into any work they create, and the art also leaves a mark on the artist. For Tatmon, this breed has fully merged the two, becoming art themselves. These 'tattoo monsters' were seen during the war, often protecting other magic users or as spies until humanity learned to violently deface what appeared to be portraits or graffiti. Today Tatmon are often used as guards, spies, and to enhance other pokegirls, making this breed a valuable commodity.

If evolved from an Ar-Tits, the breed retains whatever look they had at the time, making individuals highly variable in appearance. Their height tends to be from 5.5 to 6 feet (1.68 - 1.83 meters), though as much as a half foot (15cm) difference can be found overall. The only universal constant is the change in a rune representing themselves appearing somewhere on the body, and their eye color becoming a single solid color (often white or one of the primary or secondary colors) with no iris or pupil to be seen. The breed can still see normally, making this difference a way to tell a Tatmon from other breeds that they may look like. The breed's rune can appear anywhere on the body, but is usually on the chest, back, shoulder, or thigh. This rune will affect fur on anthromorphic individuals, appearing as silver, black, or white fur, whichever is more visible against the individual's own fur. Tatmon who were born as the breed tend to have a body style similar to their parent, similarly with those who threshold mimicking ancestry. It is just as likely for an individual to appear human as it is for them to look fully anthromorphic.

Often depicted as overly serious warriors, trends indicate that it is more likely the breed is focused on their two specialties, runic magic and fighting with weapons (usually swords or staves). These warrior works of art still have an appreciation for art, though they do not have an innate talent for it aside from their rune-carving skills. A slight majority have been described as reserved or guarded emotionally, though other research into any overlying personality has resulted in general variations like that of humans. Many learn Reduce and Enlarge in order to hide on harem sisters or tamers as tattoos, though they can't occupy the same space as magical tattoos or runes not of their making.

The breed has a natural affinity for fighting with weapons, their weapon of choice capable of mimicking sword techniques. Tatmon tend to make their own weapons, selecting the material carefully and then magically carving runes into the weapon's surface. These runes enhance their weapon, generally allowing it to be summoned, be extremely hard to break, and channel some techniques. Any challengers should be warned that at any time, the staff of this breed can hold enough runic magic to preform a half-dozen tricks on average. Individuals are also capable of giving themselves and others runic tattoos, giving boosts, protection, or extra abilities to humans and pokegirls alike. The breed can also convert some of their own energy into quick, temporary boosting runes for themselves, though more than five uses of these boosts will make the pokegirl fall unconscious. Tamers should be warned, however, that canny foes will target those with visible tattoos or runes first, making them a liability in some cases.

A Tatmon's most well known ability is the complete conversion of their body into a 2-D form. The breed can preform this feat on any flat surface that can fit her profile form, though smoother surfaces are far more comfortable than very rough or porous surfaces (individuals have likened the feeling to laying on bedsheets as opposed to laying on grit or even thorns in some cases). Another hindrance to these art pokegirls transferring themselves into flat surfaces is the presence of magic not of their own making, even another Tatmon's runes on an area will prevent another individual from getting onto the surface if she cannot fit around the glyph. This means that many sensitive areas use magical paints (such as those used to stop phasing) on their walls, ceiling, and even floors. Tatmon can also 'walk' across connected flat surfaces, though report an uncomfortable pinching sensation when doing so. If the breed learns to shrink themselves down, they can transfer themselves into tattoos on living beings. Despite the curves of a living being, Tatmon report that this is the most comfortable form of 2-D existence, claiming it to be almost like being in 3-D. The breed's 2-D form is not without it's dangers, as any damage to their canvas can limit their mobility or damage them if it hits them directly. Complete destruction of the canvas area will kill an unaware individual, though if they see the attack coming they can attempt to flee. While not damaged per-se, the breed is able to be 'washed' off of a surface with enough water, the sudden jolt back to 3-D form can disorient the unprepared.

The only trend noted with the breed in regards to taming is the average Tatmon's dislike of bondage or dominance play. Barring those two for most of the breed, individuals tend to have a variety of preferences and will mold these toward their bonded human's preferences. These runic casters are also able to use their magical talent to enhance things in the taming room, increasing stamina or sensitivity either permanently or temporarily (any temporary rune is a single use one). Contrary to some popular tv shows, this breed cannot make humans or non-Tatmon pokegirls take on their two dimensional 'art' form.

Wild Tatmon tend to find an area suitable for their art form and use this as their home (smooth rock or cliff faces are the most frequently used surfaces), as the breed can safely sleep without threat of other ferals. Ferality in this runic warrior breed is very light, with inability to focus and general forgetfulness being the two major symptoms. Ferals can form family units, with pokekits learning how to take on their two dimensional form at the same time they learn to crawl or walk (the mother will take them into the form before then). If the breed's canvas is harmed enough, they will flee, though some individuals even as feral may know how to Reduce and Enlarge themselves down to tattoo size. The simplest way to dislodge a feral is to hose the area liberally with water, most pokegirls capable of a sustained Water Gun or a quick Hydro Pump blast are able to return the breed to 3-D form. Again, stabbing or otherwise damaging the art form will damage the pokegirl similarly.

The transformation into a Tatmon is typically very fast affair, with the thresholder in question developing their personal rune, which glows and engulfs them in a pillar of light. The transformation ends when the light dissipates, leaving the new thresholder to discover any changes to her body. After this threshold is finished, the new pokegirl may assume their two dimensional art form so long as the flat surface they choose has enough area. Thresholders are typically sold at a premium to various industries that want their abilities as guards.
