Things needed power. This was especially prevalent during the Revenge War. Power was a scarce source, and in the beginning Sukebe did not have access to the huge amounts of power creating torrents of super soldiers and general mad science demanded. Belle Awesomes, being the natural solar generators that they were, could supply enough electricity for a small house or perhaps a remote operations base but nowhere near the levels needed to fuel his crucial operations at the time. In this humble Watcher’s opinion, a secret base was no secret if it could be given away by a multitude of bioengineered superweapons lounging on your roof or around the guarded premises.

Cue the Plasmatasma, the precursor to poképower. Using the rare yet common Ghostly as a template for the breed, he created a pokégirl that could drain huge amounts of power from most any source quickly and store it in her body to discharge later with minimal detection, used to power many need apparati or unleash in battle.

It did not take long for Sukebe to realize the potential applications of this ability in the war. Soon, Plasmatasmas were phasing or teleporting through all kinds of obstacles, draining all the precious electricity humanity needed and crippling operations left and right. It also turned out that a Plasmatasma could create one hell of a devastating EMP, destroying human communications, equipment, computers and killing engines of important vehicles left and right. Humanity at this time was never truly able to function with vehicles lacking electric apparati.

After the war and Sukebe’s forces finally falling apart, Plasmatasmas themselves fell off the grid (no pun intended). The breed itself became non-existent until their rediscovery in 280 AS when a tamer witnessed a Ghostly getting struck by lightning from an undisclosed source. Since then, the rare breed has been studied with curiosity as their existence explained the myriad of problems humanity had when attempting to reclaim the technological prowess that was once wielded before the great Sukebe mucked that all up.

Upon evolution from a Ghostly, the pokégirl finally is able to manifest herself into a corporal form. Their basic appearance is generally humanoid, standing at a varying height between 4ft. to 6ft even with most other features being completely variable save the fact that none ever manifest noses or mouths for unknown reasons. Colors run the gamut spectrum, a sickly green being the most common & monochromatic black, greys and white being the rarity. It has also been said that Plasmatasmas tend to manifest larger forms with ‘fuller’ body features when they have more electricity stored in them.

Researchers and Watchers alike have noted that Plasmatasmas actually subsist off of pure electricity. It is their nourishment; given the reason why the amount of electricity stored in their body slowly declines over time. It also has been noted that when their bodies feed off of life energy like pokégirls of the Youma or Zubutt line, it is oddly converted into electricity, still baffling many as to how the process works. Although Plasmatasmas all prefer to simply absorb electricity, they all claim that life energy itself is simply harder to extract and ‘digest.’ When a Plasmatasma runs out of electricity, be it starving or otherwise, she fades away into nonexistence.

Dark, sonic, and surprisingly Dragon attacks cause the Plasmatasma to unwillingly discharge the electricity stored within her body. This is also troubling since it is a double edged sword, making capture very difficult without weakening one to the extent that it simply dies or vanishes. When angry or otherwise emotional, a Plasmatasma tends to unintentionally discharge her electricity.

Most tamers have described a stable electric ‘hum’ emanating from their bodies at all times. This hum is quieter or louder depending on the amount of electricity stored in her body and serves as a faithful gauge for when they need to consider feeding. Some Plasmatasmas for unknown reasons manifest a physical fuel gauge on some part of their body, the backs of their necks or on either arm being common, depicting the amount of energy stored in their system. This case is only true in domestically born and threshold cases however.

When incorporeal, the Plasmatasma tends not to be visible in the visible spectrum of light.

In battle, the Plasmatasma is frighteningly effective unless the opponent she faces is a Dark or Dragon type or is capable of utilizing sonic attacks. Generally, the pokégirl will simply turn incorporeal and leech off the enemy’s life force until they pass out. When charged with electricity, the usually sit at a distance, flinging electric attacks or moving in close with Lightning Punch/Kick or the Blade equivalent if the girl has the experience. If their battle is against another electric type, the girl will come for them first and they will take everything they can dish out, using their enemy’s electricity to bolster their attacks.

A small note has been said on the breed possessing a certain protective aura or using attacks that are somehow ‘unique’. This ‘curtain’ of sorts is said to protect the girl from ranged attacks, stopping it before it makes contact and doing minimal damage to the ‘girl itself. The attacks have been said to vary from ‘girl to ‘girl and were deemed useful yet dangerous, as they all relied on her charge that keeps her alive. As of today, there is no actual mention or complete records of this happening and it has widely been simplified to immediate and comprehensive speculation.

Most trainers who are able to keep Plasmatasmas order them to leech the life force from their opponent while shocking them enough to distract them from the tamer’s other pokégirl pummeling them.

When it comes to Taming, the girl is easy to please, mostly being submissive and letting their master do as they please or showing a slight dominance though it is rare. The ‘girls are also noted to feed off of the waste energy emitted during sex in a fashion similar to the Succubus breed. It is mentioned that she may or may not give off a harmless yet sustained jolt of electricity when she orgasms, causing many a tamer to have their hair suddenly stand on end.

Feral Plasmatasmas are a nightmare for anyone who enjoys the convenience of electricity. They tend to stay incorporeal and flock around electrical storms or anything with a slight electrical read to it, draining it completely or shorting it out beyond repair. This also applies to domestics, as they too will short out anything they touch that is not proof against electricity. Thankfully, the breed’s rarity doesn’t allow them to end the world like a blown out bulb on a daily basis.

Threshold Plasmatasmas are so far unheard of. One reason may be that in order for a non-parthongenic pregnancy to take hold, the Plasmatasma must stay corporal for the entire gestation period. This has led to many accidents as well as trouble baring human children with the breed. It is still unknown why this quirk takes place. Those that are born, especially males, will always have the Short Circuit curse.
