The high technology brought in from other worlds by Sukube was as varied as the worlds he visited, and to oversee this potpourri of different machines, it was actually shortly before the war when Sukebe created himself an assistant to help him retro-engineer the equipment he salvaged from other dimensions. This first pokegirl was later copied en-masse, and added to the base of other tech pokegirls like the Video Girl, Cyber Nymph and Byte Bitch to both produce the final products as well as maintain the hidden labs that Sukebe had planted in the various continents. The Mecha Musume breed became very important after the War of Revenge, able to take the technologies of Sukebe, such as pokeballs and pokegirl healing units, and assist her new human masters in reverse engineering the technology and helping to create several technologies that Leagues rely on heavily today.

The biology of the breed is interesting, as these steel pokegirls are somewhat metamorphic in nature, but have metallic and technological systems intertwined within them. One researcher described them as a mixture of similar biology as the Mercury, with the ability to only take on a single secondary physical form. This is likely why the appearance and abilities of the breed are so varied, due to the possibilities of the mixture of the technology and biology.

There are three subtypes of this steel pokegirl breed, though the breed as a whole is highly variable in their looks in their true form as well as their chosen form that they obtain. From looking like a human complete with synthetic flesh to an inhumanoid multi-legged creature, both of the Mecha Musume's forms vary from individual to individual. Most of the breed usually take a mode of transportation as their secondary form, but some take on the looks of other pokegirls or even pre-sukube animals. Their bust varies from a small A cup to the comically large G cup, and even their height varies drastically from a very short 3 feet (one meter) tall to a towering 15 feet (5 meters). When in their true form, the breed often look human, some of the individuals obviously have more fully mechanical parts than others and their joints are obviously mechanical in nature. Usually other than the joints, the pokegirl looks like an armored humanoid, with soft metallic colored flesh. However, due to the highly individualistic nature of the Mecha Musume's appearance, this often varies greatly.

As individualistic as their appearance is, this tech pokegirl breed's personality leans toward the personal preferences as well. However, each subtype does seem to have a few quirks in their personality. All of the breed have an interest in history, be that in the realm of geology, technology, biology, or a broad range of fields, these pokegirls enjoy finding things long past, and figuring out how they worked. If possible, they also find ways to make modern versions of their finds as well (though this is highly limited in the field of biology). Some are also soft spoken and unassuming, and most are quiet unless they have something that needs to be said. It is also up to the individual personality of the pokegirl if they make good Alphas or Betas, since some are good with responsibility and others shirk it in favor of their passion of historical discovery.

A good description for any battling Mecha Musume is fierce. This is often surprising, given the breed's personality, but studies of their battling style show that they rely on defense, and have a great aptitude for on the fly battle plans. Due to their durability, most of the breed are able to take several hits, as well as figure out their opponents weaknesses and utilize that knowledge in battle. They use their steel type attacks to optimum efficiency, and fall back to their secondary techniques when forced to attack from a distance. Many of these mechanical pokegirls have a plasma gun, using it to fire off Plasma Blasts at a distance, though these often run out of energy after four or five shots and have to be slowly recharged. Given their other abilities, their battle style changes somewhat depending on their subtype.

One small skill that most Mecha Musume possess that make them so valued as archaeological assistants is a form of radar. They seem to know just where to go to find ruins, although this does extend to recent wrecks of vehicles and machines. This radar, while uncontrollable, seems to have near-unlimited range, although the farther away the ruin, the harder it is to get even a rudimentary sense of direction. Most of the time, unless the breed has had experience sensing this radar, she will simply lock on to the closest ruin, even if it was already discovered, even by her. Quite a few Tamers keep a Mecha Musume on hand when they need to unearth a certain relic, or to perhaps hunt for something valuable to sell.

Taming is one area where the breed's often quiet nature takes hold. Many of the breed are so introverted as to not actively seek out tamings, and quite a few individuals of the breed have been described as more shy in bed than a celestial. There are individual variants, however, as some are more extroverted than others. A vast majority of the breed enjoy studying the history of sex, and many know the Kama Sutra, and have tried to replicate the text in the taming room. Some who've taken forms of other pokegirls use that as their taming form, others revert to their true form for taming. Due to the nature of the Mecha Musumes feral state, not many of the breed are very picky on how they get tamed, since their durability allows them to weather even the more odd taming preferences of lines like the Domina.

Ferals of the breed tend to use their radar ability to find ruins, and make their homes there. The breed seems to be unable to do any studies or make any human level decisions or discoveries, but the Mecha Musume will defend their ruin to the best of their ability. Ferals are stuck in their true form, these ferals are fairly easy to spot, and sometimes mistaken for other pokegirls, depending on their looks. It is speculated that the breed has longevity, though thus far, no researcher or watcher has been able to confirm a Mecha Musume over one hundred years old.

During parthogenesis, large amounts of high energy foods as well as metals and other 'raw' materials like plastics are eaten. For human births, the marked difference is that only normal human foods are eaten, making this tech breed one of the easiest to determine if a pokewoman is having a pokekit or a human child. Threshold into a Mecha Musume is extremely rare, and requires a heavy family line of the breed in question. Threshold is marked by intense cravings for plastics, metals, and high energy foods. This threshold often mimics the effects of metallic poisoning, as the human girl's body is in flux and partly rejecting the metals that she needs to finish her transition into a pokegirl. This effect only lasts for a few days, however, as the finishing transformation into a pokegirl happens quickly in a flash of evolutionary-like light. Most thresholders are grateful, as this is one of the less painful thresholds to go through, and many can retain their human appearance.

Steel/Flying Mecha Musume
Strong Vs: Bug, Plant
Weak Vs: Electric, Fire
Attacks: Dive, Mach Breaker, Glorious Sun, Gust, Squall, Tempest, Vortex
Enhancements: Atmospheric Comfort, Improved Lung Capacity

Mecha Musume with the ability to fly often take on the forms of flying machines, winged pre-sukube animals, or flying type pokegirls. In their true form they can fly regardless of their other form. They are often brash, or at the very least flighty in personality, though individualism is still present in the breed.

Steel/Water Mecha Musume
Strong Vs: Rock, Water
Weak Vs: Electric, Fighting, Ground, Plant
Attacks: Water Gun, Water Spear, Water Punch, Water Kick, Bubblebeam, Depth Charge
Enhancements: Improved Lung Capacity or Gills, Pressure immunity

With the water element, Mecha Musume often take on the form of boats, submarines, water type pokegirls, or pre-sukube aquatic animals. Their true form is resistant to water and any kind of water damage, and the pokegirl can even stay underwater for an variable period of time, but far longer than any human. Most often quiet and serene, personalities again, vary.

Steel/Ground Mecha Musume
Strong Vs: Poison, Rock, Steel
Weak Vs: Fighting, Flying, Plant, Water
Attacks: Stomp, Dig, Earthquake, Drill Strike, Gut Punch, Thunder Tail (for tailed individuals), Resonate
Enhancements: Natural Armor, Enhanced Endurance

Ground subtype members of the breed usually take on forms of land vehicles, land animals, or Ground type pokegirls. Their true form is usually the most human looking of the subtypes, though looks are up to individuals. Most of this subtype make decent leaders, though some may be headstrong.
