In the entirety of Sukebe’s armies in the Revenge War, for few Pokégirls were so mighty, so weak-looking, or had such a short life expectancy as the Berserker.

Those who obtain sufficient funds to actually buy the expensive Shield Stone for their Damsel will find themselves with a very powerful Pokégirl on their hands, although she may not seem so at first glance. The most remarkable thing about a Berserker in their basic state is how ordinary they seem. They have no apparent muscles, their hair, height, and eye color vary but are well within the human norm, and they are only as strong as a fairly weak human woman; overall, not a very impressive example of a Pokégirl’s power. Even the Damsel’s trademark defense is absent, leaving the Berserker as frail and vulnerable as any real human girl. Once combat begins, however, their true power begins to show.

Berserkers, at their basic level, are pathetic; they are slow, clumsy, and not very strong. But as combat progresses, their changes are visible for all to see. A Berserker’s power grows drastically as she gets angrier; every attack fuels her anger, every miss makes her fury grow. They never grow any larger, nor do their muscles show any more than before, but their strength, speed, and agility all grow over time. However, this is not a willing thing, nor is it a swift process. The growth takes time, and Berserkers rarely have the opportunity for their abilities to grow past ten times their normal level, because most battles are already over by either that time, as they’ve been slain or they have won.

With this increase in power comes a distinct danger to the breed. As Berserkers grow in fury and power, their cognitive abilities begin to decline. After their abilities are about quadruple their normal level they loose their sense of self-preservation and tactics, and must rely completely upon their Tamer to give them commands to do anything besides brutally attack. They obey well, but once they grow more than approximately eight times as strong as a normal human they are uncontrollable, as their fury consumes their mind to the level that even a Delta bonded Tamer would only be partially obeyed; fortunately, with only a moderate level of training they can be taught to keep their head enough to not kill their enemy. But they are at their most dangerous when they become thirteen times as strong as a human, as they are incapable of almost any level of mental action, and at this stage they are nothing more than screaming, spitting, biting engines of destruction that will seriously injure or kill their opponent unless restrained or recalled to their Pokéball. As a side effect of this tendency to enter an insane rage, Berserker's are very susceptible to attacks that would inflict the Berserk status. Such attacks are always successful, and serve to push the Berserker even further along in their rage.

Berserkers, other than in the midst of one of their frenzies, are actually rather undeserving of the name. Their personalities run the gamut, but are rarely as vicious as one would expect from seeing them fight, and they are often genuinely kind Pokégirls. They are, however, prone to getting angry (although it would require something truly horrible to make a Berserker reach any remotely high level of power from just an argument). For the most part, Berserkers get along with others just fine, with four notable exceptions. One of these are other Pokégirls that depend on their rage and fury to fight, such as the Titmanian Devil and the Slottern. Berserkers seem to be rather reactive to their emotions, and it is much easier for them to get angry around other Pokégirls likewise inclined to anger. Berserkers, quite understandably, do not desire to loose their wits, and as such are reluctant to remain around such Pokégirls for any length of time.

Another group that Berserkers tend to dislike are people with tendencies to insult. They know that without being angry they are the weakest Pokégirls around, but they very much dislike that being constantly pointed out. Mocking the weaknesses of others is also something that annoys Berserkers. The other group that often irks the Berserker is, oddly enough, other Fighting-types. Berserkers, despite their ability to summon weapons, prefer to carry one around with them all the time. This weapon is generally very large. When they fight, they generally fight with both weapon and body in a very natural, formless style, as they simply move and strike in ways that come naturally to them without prior training. However, some of the other Fighting-types, particularly those that follow a style of combat, often try to get the Berserker to try to follow a specific style, or teacher them a certain way, in order to make them “better”. Berserkers do not take well to being confined or constricted (indeed, Dominas are that last exception), and greatly dislike being asked to conform to a certain way of thought or action.

Obviously, the dissonance in personalities between Damsel and Berserker is vast. Because the original Berserkers all died out during the Revenge War, the breed was not seen again until a lab accident occurred in 212 A.S., and Researchers were shocked at how greatly the Damsel’s personality had changed. It is one of the few instances of evolution completely overwriting the Pokégirl’s previous personality—whereas small changes are common and not to be concerned over, it is rare that a non-Menace Pokégirl undergoes so complete a change from their previous personality (of course, few Damsels possessed much personality, which may play a large part in the switch from such a submissive Pokégirl). The thought of the Damsel, or all Pokégirls, evolving into anything capable of violence was mind-boggling, to say the least

Berserkers, although they dislike being controlled, have no problem being the controller. While they willingly accept their Tamer’s dominance over them, they will almost always scrabble to be the Alpha. This is in part due to their desire to be in charge, but is also an aspect of their desire to escape confinement; as Alpha, they only have to obey their Tamer, who they would obey anyway. However, they are no great choice; the breed has no inherent ability to plan, no great level of natural intelligence, rarely plan ahead, don’t use tactics or strategy, and loose their head as they get into a fight. A good decision for a Tamer would be to simply place them apart from the usual harem pecking order; don’t let them command others, or be commanded in turn, save by the Tamer.

When it comes to Taming, Berserker’s like it rough. They love being in charge of a Taming session, and the rougher the sex is (particularly on them) the better. Fortunately for their Tamer, rising lust does not have the same effect as rising anger, so Taming them is, in truth, little different from having sex with an ordinary human. They despise bondage, but are otherwise open to a great deal of experimentation.

Feral Berserkers are absolutely terrifying to behold. They are bloodthirsty beasts, at the height of their berserk frenzy, and constantly emit their Fear Aura. They have nothing in their heads beyond violence, and tend to wreck widespread destruction in their immediate surroundings. Despite this, there is no bounty of Feral Berserkers, both because they are extremely rare and because they are so consumed by their rage they don’t remember to eat, and Berserkers require twice the amount of food a human does. Berserkers that have gone Feral are generally so weak from hunger that they pose no threat within a week, and are die completely before the second week is through.

Thresholding into a Berserker is believed to be impossible at this time.
