Unable to sleep after their taming session because of his Nightwalker blood gift Jack lay in bed arms wrapped around the sleeping Lilith basking in the burgeoning sensation of a still forming alpha bond.
The clock struck one and though he was loath to get up there were things he needed to get done. Trying to untangle himself from Lilith proved an exercise in futility as when he let go of her she promptly wrapped her own arms around him and snuggled deeper into his chest still fast asleep. An idea suddenly came to him and he smirked. He slowly rubbed her honey pot and she reflexively spread her legs for him. Sliding a finger in and out she started to moan as he played with her body a little faster. Lilith awoke with a shudder as she came an orgasm racking her body.
“Good Morning Master” Lilith sleepily muttered rolling over in an attempt to take him into her mouth and return the favor.
Though he was loath to he stopped her before she could start. “As much as I would enjoy it there is something I want to get done and we can’t do it if we just spend the rest of the day in bed.”
She pouted as she got up and walked to the shower, ass swaying as she walked. “That’s certainly a persuasive argument.” Jack muttered to himself before giving in and joining her in the shower.
30 minutes later they were finally dressed and ready to go. Just before leaving the room he turned to Lilith “If you see something you think is suspicious or that might prove dangerous tell me immediately. Consider this a standing order no matter what else might be going on at the time.”
Nodding her ascent she asked “Are you worried about being attack while still on the campus master?”
“I don’t really expect to be attacked, however it’s always the times you don’t expect that kill so we’ll go with an overabundance of caution.” They left the room and headed out of the pokecenter, giving the key to Molly who had taken over for Sasha. The center had filled with people as a result and their room was quickly given to a Tamer with a Bunnygirl that looked like she wouldn’t be waiting until they got to the room to start.
They walked out into the day momentarily blinded by the mid day sun. Directly across from the pokecenter were the Academy battle fields and they were already full of the recently christened tamers trying to show off their new girls. A number of Boobisaur, Squirtitty, and Charamandas could be seen as well a few Amachop and Geogal.
At the entrance to the battlefields a tent had been set up advertising a soon to begin tournament for the new tamers at the school. Sponsored by Jahana Corp the prizes for the top three wouldn’t be revealed until the tournament was over. The first part of the tournament took place until three and tamers could register any time for then. As a result only two Catgirls were at the tent to register people.
“There is always a tournament held here the day of graduation.” Jack started to explain to Lilith as they walked to the tent. “The theory being that since everyone just received their girl a few hours ago and have been unable to train with them everyone should be at a more or less even level. As a result the tournament is supposed to show the capability of the tamer more than the strength of the pokegirl.” He paused and handed his new pokedex to one of the Catgirls to sign up for the tournament.
“You sound like you disagree master.”
“The elemental affinity of the girl tends to matter a lot more than the skill of the tamer at this point. The only way a Charamanda can hope to defeat a Squirtitty is to hope she runs out of water by dodging her attacks. Unless you’re an idiot dodging should always be a goal and hardly shows any real skill on the tamers part.” The Catgirl handed back his pokedex and a badge with the number 42 on it. “Battles where neither girl has an elemental advantage are far more impressive in terms of showing the tamers battling ability, since the battles are random this does happen but a lot of the more common starters are weak to one another. Though maybe when they say they are trying to get tamers to show their skill they mean show that they have none. Considering the students I’ve met in my time here that is approximately none.”
A passing tamer heard his remarks and turned to say something. He stopped when Jack flashed a grin and channeled his infernal affinity through his eyes.
Lilith laughed watching the tamer back away as quickly as possible only to turn and run at the sound of her laugh. His Pidgette running followed him in the air.
“I didn’t know you could control your affinity master.”
“All I can consciously do is use it to make myself appear more threatening, works well on idiots like that though.” They arrived at the battlegrounds and he took a seat at the stands placed around the battlefields and pulled Lilith onto his lap watching McDougal and his Lupina crush a Squirtitty.
“The first round will last another hour or so with each battle being a random choice between the remaining entrants. The second round will have everyone still left from the first round set up into actual tournament brackets. They usually have 4 battles going on at a time and the two battles that make up the semi-finals are held at the same time.” He paused watching a vicious looking Amachop throw a Ladyba off of the field. “The battle for 3rd place is held before the final match with the final match beginning immediately after. The whole thing should be over around 7 p.m.” He caught Lilith by the chin and turned face to look at him. “Considering that you are better than any of these other pokegirls and I am better than any of these tamers I fully expect to take top prize.”
Lilith preened under his attention. “Yes Master I’ll try my best to win.”
Jack frowned “I always expect you to give your best in everything you do. In a battle however your goal is victory not doing your best. As a wise man once said ‘do or do not there is no try’ .” He released her and turned to continue watching the fights.
“Will number 42 and number 37 please come to battlefield 7 please.” The loudspeaker behind him blared and Jack got up making a note to watch for where loudspeakers were place from now on.
Made with the easy repair of inevitable destruction in mind the battle field was just a 50 x 20 meter dirt rectangle marked off in white chalk. On each short end was a small box separately marked for the tamers to stand in during the fight. Jack walked confidently to the end of the field designated as his and waited in his box for his opponent to arrive.
The trainer he had scared off earlier turned out to be number 37. “Oh this is going to be so much fun.” Jack said, quietly enough for only Lilith to hear. A grin on her face at the look of terror on the tamers she strutted on to the field putting on a small show for Jack. The Pidgette wasn’t nearly as intimidated as number 37 though and flew onto her side of the field chirping out a challenge.
The referee stepped onto the field. “Are both combatants ready.” Jack nodded confidently and the referee either accepted the Pidgette’s yes or assumed trembling was a way to say someone was ready. “Begin.” He immediately ran off the field experience telling him that even the weakest pokegirl battle was not a place he wanted to be that close to.
“Jennifer fly up to where she can’t get you and use Gust.” Number 37 recovered at last and began to issue orders. Obeying, Jennifer flew in the air and started to flap her wings quickly sending a blast of air towards Lilith.
“Show him your Shadow Blade attack.” Jack commanded amused at number 37 forgetting that Succubi were capable of flight. With her enhanced speed and greater maneuverability Lilith was quite a bit more capable of aerial combat then the Pidgette.
Lilith’s wings began to darken as shadows started to collect on them. The gathered shadows began to twist and form patterns dancing across her wings as she imbued them with her life energy. She spread her wings wide and leapt into the air as the Pidgette’s gust attack started, staying above the unnatural wind trying to attack her. A Gust attack took a few second to form as the pokegirl had to beat her wings in order to generate the attack. While doing so they were generally defenseless as they couldn’t do anymore then maintain their own altitude while using the attack.
Lilith’s enhanced speed brought her to bear on the Pidgette before she could finish ending the gust attack and as a result was unable to avoid Lilith as she dealt a viscous blow to her unprotected chin.
“Lilith use Night Shade.” Jack called as number 37 stared at the scene unable to think of anything he could do now. The previous Shadow Blade hitting her in the chin made the Pidgette flinch back giving the Succubus another opportunity to attack.
Lilith put her hands out in front of her channeling a wave of dark energy that rocked Jennifer and started her plummeting back to the Earth. Just before impact she was enveloped by a red beam as number 37 recovered her, saving her from the even worse injuries hitting the ground would have caused.
“The winner is number 42.” The referee called out to a smattering of applause from those few watching the fight.
Lilith landed behind Jack and he watched as number 37 ran from the field without a word ,headed for the pokecenter as fast as he could. “You should have backed away from her while you were using Night Shade, she was still close enough that if she wasn’t already stunned she could have launched a surprise attack that would have caught you.” Jack said as they walked back to the stands to watch the rest of the competitors.
“She was weak though, she wouldn’t have been able to use a surprise attack.” Lilith argued back annoyed at being critiqued when she won.
Jack suddenly stopped without warning and she almost ran into him. “Yes she was weak and yes she didn’t use a surprise attack. However the reason attacks are surprise attacks are because you don’t expect them.” He lifted her chin and caressed her cheek. “More people die to surprise than anything else and I don’t want that to happen to you.” He let go and continued heading to the stands, slowly followed by a more introspective Lilith.
“We have 3 bouts in our own bracket before we make it to the finals.” Jack said as he and Lilith awaited their first fight of the second round. “Our only real competition would be Sabers or Mercer and I don’t think Mercer is competing so that just leaves Sabers . She won’t be our problem until the final round though as she’s in the other bracket.”
Casey and her Draco were fighting already and by the looks of it they were going to win that bout. “Our first fight is against an A-bra which is sad for them and an easy win for us, just use soul fist and take to the air if you need to dodge.”
“Number 42 and number 22 please come to battlefield 3.” The loudspeaker announced bringing Jack and his opponent, a purple haired slip of a girl to the field. The battle was over almost as soon as it began. The A-bra appeared sleeping and a single Soul Fist ensured she wouldn’t be waking up anytime soon.
The next fight against a Catgirl ended in a much more pleasant fashion. Deciding to give her sex attacks a try Lilith used Call Me Queen and caught her with an Enslaving Kiss while she was fighting the effect. The Catgirl was eventually recalled but not before Lilith had disrobe her and was eating her out on the ground. The Catgirl’s tamer was one of the few to lose that day feeling like they had actually won.
Jack made a note of entering her into a few sex battles at a gym, she seemed like she would enjoy it. “Now we have to wait for the other bracket to finish and we can start the semi-final round.” Jack said as they waited in the part of the stands set aside for those still in the tournament.
The last battle ended with McDougal’s Lupina crushing another Squirtitty and a loud speaker Jack had made sure to sit well away from called him and Casey down to the battlefield.
On the field next to them McDougal and Sabers prepared for battle as well.
The referee signaled to begin and Casey wasted no time. “Slash attack.” She command sending the Draco running straight for Lilith.
“Fly into the air and pelt her with Soul Fist.” Jack calmly said, Lilith taking to the air and avoiding the Draco. Gathering her energy into a ball between her hand she released it at the Draco causing her to scramble in order to dodge. “She doesn’t have any attacks that can reach you Lilith. Just continue to use Soul Fist and once you connect you’ve won.” With a smirk Jack watched the shock spread across both Casey and her Draco’s faces.
That shock was all the opening Lilith needed, connecting with her next Soul Fist attack the Draco was knocked to the ground and left wide open to the next one. She was charging another one when the referee yelled “The fight is over, the winner is Jack Rivers.” Lilith gave a mocking bow to Casey as she descended back down to Jack’s side.
Jack pulled her in close to him and whispered into her ear. “You’ve done well so far but the next fight will be the true test. I expect you to win no matter what but if you have a clear victory then I’ll see that you get, rewarded.” He breathed out the last word and caressed her body before pulling away. “First we have to wait for the other battles to finish.”
Sabers had the same idea as Jack, to have her Frostwhelp fly above McDougal’s Lupina and use ranged attacks to win without risk. While able to fly Frostwhelps are not nearly as agile in the air as a Succubus and the high temperature of the day further dampened her abilities. Flying low to attack with a Snowball the Lupina showed off her impressive legs and jumped into the air and brought her down to the ground. The battle ended when the Frostwhelp managing to get away from the Lupina after being Bitten and Slashed was taken down by a vicious Low Kick to the face.
“That is the kind of strategy that truly makes a tamer, not having any ranged attacks but still being able to use her innate abilities to bring the fight to where she is strongest. Of course the same plan won’t work against you since you have far more maneuverability in the air and a much longer attack range as well.”
A 15 minute intermission was called in order to give the tamers time to heal their pokegirls and prepare for the next round. 15 minutes later saw Casey and Sabers facing off with their respective dragons. 30 seconds after that saw the Draco knocked out and being rushed to the pokecenter by Casey.
“She must have still been angry at losing to me to have ordered her Draco to blindly charge like that knowing that Froswhelps can use ice attacks.” Jack watched from a distance as the Headmaster put his head between his hands at the sight. “Well it looks like we’re up.” He and Lilith walked out of the stands and into his designated box as McDougal did the same.
The audience began to cheer as the two remaining tamers took their positions. Both of them had dominated almost all of their fights so far and while Lilith held the type advantage and was favored to win the Lupina still had good odds.
Lilith started to walk onto the field as the Lupina did when Jack stopped her. “The people here expect a good fight, they want to see a close win and a struggle to get there. Here’s what you do to disappoint them.” He leant down and whispered the plan into her ear.
Taking the field opposite the Lupina, Lilith grinned ferally and made the shadows formed by the growing night dance across her wings.
Those in the crowd expecting an even sided fight were disappointed that night. Expecting Lilith to take flight as she had done in every other fight both McDougal and his Lupina were not surprised when she created a rose whip and took to the sky. They were surprised when, as the Lupina jumped in an attempt to bring her down to the ground she showed her teleport skill appearing behind her in the sky. She lashed her whip around the Lupina’s legs and using her enhanced strength brought her face first into the ground. Unwilling to risk her getting back up, Lilith began to concentrate the darkness around her and released a vicious Night Shade attack that knocked the fighting type out cold.
The fact that a non flying type was extremely vulnerable once in the air was a lesson impressed upon the entire audience that day.
Jacks reward for first place in the tournament was a 50,000 SLC credit at the Jahana Corp department store in Celaboner. 2nd place earned a stoic looking McDougal a 25,000 SLC credit and for 3rd Sabers won a 10,000 SLC credit.
