Arguments often arise on the basis of the Hottie, mostly on if the breed is considered a frog pokegirl or a toad pokegirl. Several studies on the breed have come to the conclusion that the answer is both, as the breed is based on the order Anura and not any specific family of toads or frogs. Despite their enormous range of appearances, the breed has several commonalities in their abilities. This amphibious breed is as one would expect, a water type; however the addition of a fire typing makes the duel typed breed a powerful combatant and dangerous feral. Used in a variety of roles, from cooking to metallurgy or steam generation, this amphibian based pokegirl is just as prized outside of combat roles as they are in battling circuits.

Hotties range in height from 'dwarf' to 'goliath' (3 to 9 feet or 1 to 3 meters) and their builds can range from lithe to stocky with usually proportional bust sizes. Aside from the hair on the top of an individual's head, these anurian pokegirls are completely hairless, with skin that is usually closer to the human norm than a true amphibian in texture (the breed cannot absorb oxygen through the skin in any significant amounts as their animal counterparts). Coloration of the skin and hair often mimics a genius or family of anura, making common colors be greens and browns, though wild dazzling colors such as bright orange or yellow are possible, as well as skin patterns that mimic toads and frogs.

The breed's hands are webbed at the knuckle and the fingertips are twice as large as human hands of the same size. These finger pads enable the breed to climb most vertical surfaces and even hang upside down. This phenomenon seems to be due to a mixture of either tree frog or gecko DNA that remains dominant despite the myriad of appearances the breed can come in. The breed's feet have a single pad located at the heel, while the digits of the feet are elongated and webbed slightly or significantly depending on the level of animorphism in an individual's appearance. This alteration of the feet may also alter the gait of an individual, usually in-line with the rest of the breed's appearance as a not very near human class pokegirl.

Though popular rumors state that Hotties with smaller bust sizes are more volatile in personality, the breed as a whole tends to have anger management issues, often venting their anger by way of property destruction. Over sensitivity due to poor self-confidence is often pointed to as the cause of such childish antics. Short tempers aside, the breed can be taught to work through these issues without petty destruction or pranks. If an individual can overcome their issues, the breed can make effective Alphas or Betas, though in general the breed is regulated away from such high pressure positions due to their tendency to snap under social pressures.

The breed excels at fighting, and often uses battles to help vent frustrations and anger. Though they lack claws or fangs like other pokegirls, these amphibian pokegirls use their long tongues in their attacks, modifying techniques like Poison Lash and Wrap to suit their oral appendage and even using their blinding launch of their tongues to deliver surprise flame and water strikes to opponents via the tongue. The breed also makes use of several poisons, a hallucinogen, sleep, and two different harmful poisons, one creating severe burns utilized in their Acid Tongue technique, and a toxin that acts much like a stomach irritant in small quantities and causes the poison status in larger quantities. In addition to the breed's poisonous abilities, they are also able to combine their flame and water techniques into boiling variations of water techniques. These heated techniques can even create blasts of steam that only heat resistant breeds can weather. Hotties can also control the temperature of various parts of their bodies and some use this to heat up drinks by sticking their fingers into the liquid, or foods. Some have been known to use this as for practical jokes.

True to their name, Hotties love heat, and often use their heat aura and steam producing capabilities to bring the ambient temperature and humidity up to a 'comfortable' level for them - though the miniature tropical environ is usually too uncomfortable for non-gifted humans. The breed is known to enjoy aquatic tamings, though non-gifted humans are advised to check that any bubbles are from water jets and not the pokegirl causing the water to boil. Other taming preferences tend to vary by breed, though the practice of 'Hottie Licking' has become rather prevalent, having the pokegirl use her tongue to coat a patch of skin (usually the vagina) with her hallucinogenic venom and a human licks (or tames the pokegirl orally) to get high. Though the venom causes an hallucinogenic state for about a half hour, some deaths have occurred due to accidental mixing of the breed's venoms during application. It is recommended that Tamers do not indulge in this practice, especially in the wilderness.

Ferals of the breed can be found almost anywhere, though the majority are found in tropical areas with the numbers lessening significantly in colder climates. Ferals born into an area tend to have coloration and characteristics of the amphibians of that area, allowing them to better blend into their natural environment. Some ferals also tend to use either their fire attacks or their water attacks, it seems that using both in tandem takes a conscious effort. Before wide spread pokegirl indexing was available, these differences in appearance and use of either fire or water techniques had Hotties classified as two separate pokegirls, called the Salamandra and Horny Toad. Soon after classification became more common, the two breeds were reconciled to reflect their status as a single breed. Tamers out to catch a feral Hottie should be prepared to face either fire and poison attacks or water a poison attacks, though electric and ground types are always a safe bet. Distressed or unconscious ferals tend drool one or more venoms profusely, and some have adopted a short term poisonous coat by using their tongues to coat their own bodies. Antidotes are highly recommended when hunting the breed.

Threshold into a Hottie usually requires a family history of the breed, or at least amphibian ancestry with both fire and water present. Threshold is marked by chills as the body heats up erratically, and thresholders often complain that they're freezing. General numbness also sets in for any anatomical changes, especially to the hands, feet, and mouth as the hands, feet and tongue change respectively. Within a week to 10 days, threshold completes, and the resulting pokegirls are usually sold for profit or given up to ranches before any temperamental changes begin.
