The Tarantella was created alongside the Spinnertit in the early days of the Revenge War. They took a more aggressive stance to combat than their spider sisters, Using their webbing to hinder the movements of soldiers, but also charging forward to engage them directly. Today most of these pokegirls are kept around for their silk, but they’re also very popular amongst tamers looking for a bug type starter.

Physically, Tarantellas can easily pass for human. Their height and measurements are usually within the norms for women their age. A Tarantella’s spinnerets are actually located in their scalp, so rather than growing hair they produce strands of silk. A Tarantella can change the color of the silk she produces so many of them appear to have hair that is dyed more than one color. The nails of the Tarantella are stronger than a humans and provides them with small claws on their hands and feet. The only trait that really stands out to separate these girls from humans is a small retractable “fang”, really more of a stinger, located near the tailbone.

Tarantellas are often described as being very competitive and driven pokegirls. They’re always trying to improve themselves and learn new fighting styles. They are very proud of their weaving and will loudly claim that their work is the best there is, especially in the presence of Spinnertits and their evolutions. Tarantellas will often eat silk products made by other pokegirls and use them as fuel to produce “superior versions.” While this behavior can often be bullying or negative some Tarantellas can be surprisingly supportive of other spider girls who they compete against, pushing their rivals to be the best they can be. Because of their intense competitive drive most Tarantellas don’t like falling short, whether it be in battle or in weaving, and can easily slip into depression after a loss. Tamers and friends who are supportive during these times will easily earn the adoration of the troubled Tarantella. Tarantellas all have a fondness for singing and dancing and the majority of tamed Tarantellas will do their best to learn their namesake dance.

Tarantellas are close range fighters having little in the way of natural ranged attacks. They don’t produce silk quickly enough to use it actively in combat, but most Tarantellas expecting a fight might have a prepared line of silk they can use to lasso in a target. Tamed Tarantellas have a bit more variety as they learn dancing and singing techniques. The Tarantella’s fang is their main weapon when fighting, allowing them to poison their opponents. Most people underestimate the fang due to its odd placement, but Tarantellas are surprisingly skilled at getting in close to their opponent and bumping them with their backside. With their fang they can inject poisons that paralyze, cause sleepiness, arouse, and normally deteriorate one’s health. They also have a special poison, unique to their line and their animal base, called tarantism venom. Similar to paralyzing venom, tarantism venom robs the victim of their ability to control their body, but rather than go limp, the victims of tarantism convulse wildly, almost looking like they’re dancing, until the effects of the venom wear off. Fire types and flying types are a tamers best chance against Tarantellas. Fire attacks can easily burn through their silk and the majority of flying types can attack from outside their reach while also taking advantage of their double weakness.

The taming preferences of a Tarantella vary based on their fetishes and the desires of their tamer, but there are a couple of constants. If they have enough space and time, Tarantellas like to pick the setting and weave up a cocoon for their tamer, themselves, and occasionally their harem sisters to tame in. Another constant is a little cocktail Tarantellas like to drug their tamers with. This venom mixture both arouses and energizes their partner for a long and thorough taming. Many a tamer has made their Tarantella into a Wolf Spider while enjoying the effects of this venom. Tarantellas make decent sex battlers, stinging their opponents to get them in the mood and binding them with silk ropes to put them at her mercy.

Feral Tarantellas form dens to live inside of and line the area around these dens with smaller webs to catch insects that they can snack on. Their main source of nutrition however is other pokegirls and small animals. In order to lure in their prey Tarantellas leave brightly colored trails of silk that lead to their den. While this does attract many edible pokegirls it often brings in it’s fair share of predators. Tarentellas are smart enough to know they need taming and if they catch a human (or a very near human pokegirl) they’ll usually attempt to rape their prey before eating them. Rather than trying to flee, tamers are advised to make the taming as satisfying as possible while also calling for help. There’s always the chance that a good taming could cause the pokegirl to bond to the tamer instead in which case she’ll be much less likely to eat them.

Thresholding into a Tarantella is not the worse transformation, but it is one of the more embarrassing ones. This is mainly due to the fact that it begins with the girl losing all of her hair. After this point she’ll start to experience headaches from the growth of her spinnerets. While the spinnerets grow in she’ll also have to deal with pain from the growth of he fang and poison glands. In the last week they’ll experience general muscle pain as from become strong and their nails will become thicker. When they’re finally done the Tarantella will be able to grow her silk out to replace her hair. The whole process takes roughly a month from start to finish.
