This breed of Pokégirl, thought of as both strange yet amazingly efficient on the battlefield despite their fighting style thanks to several reasons. One, that the human forces they fought often broke their 'dueling code' (described below), which allowed the Pokégirl to use more flexible tactics in the large scale battles that the breed was usually seen in. Two, that the breed seemed to be almost always prepared for any conditions that might present themselves on the battlefield. And three, in the way that most small arms attacks did rather little to stop the Pokégirl. This made the breed a high priority both during and after the Revenge War for extinction, though obviously humanity never quite got that far.
Upon evolution, the Duelette often grows by half a foot or so, rarely and barely reaching over six feet tall in any known instance. The only real physical change to the Pokégirl is minor- other than easily tanning and getting a little taller, the Pokégirl doesn't really change physically. Instead, the Pokégirl personality becomes stronger, and her mindset changes a bit. As a whole, the breed thinks not only ahead, but also to conserve herself and those she cares about by doing things in what she calls 'the efficient way'. In battle, this means she will most often choose an opponent and challenge her to one on one combat. The Duelette does this to satisfy her 'dueling code', which several members of their breed have reported is something that just comes to them naturally. Only when attacked by someone outside of the duel will the Pokégirl not follow her code of conduct. Battles of any sort cause the Duelette's new aggressive streak to surge, and it's only when forced outside of her dueling code that the Pokégirl truly begins to shine, using not only her equipment cards without abandon but also using her various magical abilities as well to lash out at the one(s) who disrupted her duel. Since this may include her harem sisters by accident, tamers are suggested to do all they can to keep their Pokégirls from interrupting a duel between the Duelette and her opponent at all times.
One of the strongest abilities the Duelette has is the use of up to fourteen cards of her own creation. Unlike the Duelist, who use Duel Monster Cards, or the Card Captors who use the strange Clow Cards, this breed creates their own cards, which are capable of storing simple items such as non-electrical based weapons, body armor, gear, etc. These equipment cards can be summoned from at any time, and the contents may either be summoned on the Pokégirl or nearby as the Duelette deems necessary. The equipment cards cannot carry electronics, perishables, or fuel-powered items. The items that are stored are the actual items, not copies as some researchers once had thought. The process of putting an item into a card can take up to 2 hours depending on the overall complexity of the item. Limits include the item not being as heavy or as large as the Pokégirl herself, with a weight limit of her own weight for the items in each card.
In a harem, this strong-willed Pokégirl is a loner (not to be confused with the Pokégirl of the same name). Preferring to deal one-on-one with her tamer and her harem sisters, the Duelette rarely will allow herself to be involved in a large discussion or argument unless it directly involves her. Issues with tolerance within the harem are often backed by a challenge for the intolerant Pokégirl by the Duelette, who sees bickering as inefficient and needing to be struck down as quickly as possible. This can make her a good Alpha, but typically Duelettes are poor choices for any position of true authority within a harem. Taming sessions are little different- the Duelette prefers only a single partner at any given time, and one can expect the session to charge the Duelette's aggressive streak into turning it into a sex battle. Though she is not terribly proficient in such a battle, the Pokégirl’s aggressiveness has often caught her tamer, and other Pokégirls, by surprise during such 'matches'.
Threshold cases are very rare, with perhaps a handful known world-wide. This transformation typically takes less than a week to complete, and is one of the most painless cases of threshold known in the world. Feral Duelettes are about as rare, and they lose a fair amount of their intelligence while feral. Their cards are used to mark their territory, which ironically leaves the Pokégirl mostly helpless on her own within her little turf.
