Chapter 11

Branwyn appeared and let Kerrik’s hand go. “We’re regular customers here and I want to pick up everything they can spare.” Her eyes flicked to the pack on his shoulder. “I’m not sure what the capacity of that thing is, but I know it’s more than what a pokepack can hold.”
He nodded. “That’s true.” He looked around slowly. They’d appeared on a concrete pad that had the words “Teleport Point” painted on it in red. Some buildings were at the end of a path and the rest of the area seemed to be cultivated crops, mostly grape vines. “So this is the esteemed Archer Winery where you get that excellent beer from?”
“That’s right, sir. Welcome. I am Zeela.” It was a drow zee in a skirt and jacket, both which had the winery’s logo on them. “Mrs. Wolf, we’ve been expecting you.” She gave them both a dazzling and yet completely professional smile. “And you are, sir?”
            “Kerrik Wolf.”
“He’s family.” Branwyn gave him an amused look.
“Then you are indeed welcome here, sir. This way, please.” She led them towards one of the buildings.
Kerrik frowned slightly. “Is this going to take a long time?”
Branwyn shrugged. “An hour or two at most. Why?”
“I’ve never been here before. Can I get a tour?”
Zeela stopped and turned around. “I’ll have to ask at the main building, but I don’t see where that would be a problem. One of the girls can show you around for practice. They’re in training to be guides and they can always use more practice.”
            “Thanks.”
This smile was much warmer and less professional. “Sir, the Urufu family, now the Wolf family, helped us to get started in the Blue League markets, where we have done very well. We, here, don’t forget our friends.”
Kerrik’s ears flicked and he bowed formally. “Thank you. Neither do we.”
She nodded. “You’ll still have to be vetted by Alice, but that’s just a formality.” She headed off again. “Now, if you two will come with me, we’ll get everything taken care of.”
She led them into the building and stopped at an empty desk. She sighed and gestured at some chairs. “Please wait here while I find out where Alice has wandered off.” She disappeared behind a door that had a sign on it stating in no uncertain terms that unauthorized personnel would be vaporized if they trespassed.
Kerrik gave Branwyn a curious look. “We’re going to be vetted? I thought you were a regular customer.”
“We are, but they’re professionally cautious. The security systems here are a blend of available technology and pokegirl techniques. Alice, who should be more properly known as Alice the eighteenth, is a snugglebunny and a touch telepath. She is used as a firebreak to look for people who want to case the winery for attack or who want to steal its secrets.”
“You do realize that she could learn our plans then.”
The unicorn shook her head. “There is some etiquette involved. She doesn’t pry and we don’t kill her. The Archers weren’t too happy with that idea, but they liked the idea of Stardust being their contact and vacuuming their minds on every visit even less.”
The door opened and Zeela returned, this time followed by a bunny pokegirl wearing shorts and a t-shirt that read “Archer Winery – Security”. She flashed a warm grin. “Branwyn!” She hugged the unicorn. “How are you?”
Branwyn chuckled. “I’m fine. This is Kerrik and he’d like a tour while Zeela and I are talking.”
Alice turned and hugged him. “Hi!’ Her body was wiry and surprisingly muscular.
Kerrik kept from stiffening and smiled when she released him. “Hello. I’m Kerrik.”
The snugglebunny surprised him with a proper bow. “Greetings, Kerrik. I want to welcome you to the Archer Winery. If you could wait for a moment, I’ll arrange for a tour while they’re talking business.”
            “Thank you.”
Branwyn looked at Zeela. “Off to your office, then?” She followed the drow zee through the door.
Alice slotted a chip into her computer and hit a handful of keys. “Just a moment.” After a couple of minutes, she pulled the chip out and offered it to him. “This has the information on it that you want.” She eyed him curiously. “If you still want that tour, I can show you around myself.”
Kerrik accepted the chip. “I’m surprised you’re giving this up.”
“You’re going to use it to help, and the original Alice would have approved of your methods. I try to keep to her methodology, as do all of her children who sit that desk.” She flashed a sudden smile. “As long as it continues to work, that is.”
He nodded and carefully put the chip away. “Do you want anything from me in return?”
She stood and clipped a radio to her belt. “Not for the chip, no. However, would you be offended if, on the tour, I tried to talk you into taming me? I’m bonded to the master vintner, but he doesn’t mind if I seek out the occasional other male, since he’s quite busy.”
Kerrik offered her his arm. “How about you show me around and we’ll discuss it.”
***
Candace pushed her hair back from her face and frowned slightly at the silver threads among the pink. She gave Jamie a curious look. “Are you sure this is a good time to add to your harem?”
He shrugged. “No, but is there ever really a good time for that? It’s always going to be a disruption and I want to get started settling her into the harem before we move to Haven. We’re likely to be more than a bit busy for a long time afterwards.”
She nodded. “You have a point.” She turned to the storage unit and keyed it live. “It’ll take a moment to find the one you want.”
“Why do you not become kami?” Ginevra stood patiently near the wall. “You are not young and it will help you.”
Candace stopped and turned to peer at her before giving Jamie a quick glance. “I don’t want to talk about it.”
“If you are not comfortable with your reasoning then you are not sure you have made the correct choice. You should not be afraid of it, it is like evolving.”
            “Gin, drop it.”
Candace’s voice hardened and she gripped the countertop hard enough to mottle the skin of her fingers. “I said I don’t want to talk about it.”
Ginevra muttered something under her breath and Jamie blinked in shock.
The nursejoy’s eyes narrowed. “What did you say?”
Ginevra turned her head to look at Jamie. “Well? You are still the master.”
            He sighed. “She asked.”
“You are an arrogant selfish bitch.”
Candace’s mouth dropped and then firmed in an angry line. “You have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“You love Shikarou and he loves you. Your harem loves you and you love them. You love your son and he loves you. Shikarou has offered you the greatest gift he has to offer, and you are arrogant because you spurn it. You family doesn’t want to lose you and you apparently want to die. That is selfish. And when someone brings it up, you refuse to even discuss it and dismiss their concerns. You are a bitch. What part of that is hard to understand?” Her hands flexed slightly. “I did not mention that you are obviously not happy with what getting old has done to you and yet you refuse to do anything about it. That makes you stupid.”
            “Gin, that is enough.”
Candace shook her head sadly. “No, Jamie, she’s right. Ginevra, what you didn’t mention is that I’m also afraid. I was born a nursejoy and I’ve never evolved. It’s not something that normally happens to us and I’ve never worried about it. I’m a pokegirl, but damn it, I’m human. Shikarou isn’t and I’m afraid to become like him.”
“He is good enough to father your son. You also need to think about the fact that your delay may kill some of your family. The other members of your harem are watching you be afraid and it frightens them. Unlike you, they will be in combat when we move and some of them may die because they are older and slower and weaker than they could be.” Ginevra’s hands clenched. “It will be your fault.”
Jamie turned white. “That is too much!”
            She nodded and went still.
“Why do you care?” Candace’s cheeks were flushed with anger. “Did Branwyn put you up to this?”
“Branwyn is not my master and cannot order me to do anything. I care because Jamie has refused to become kami and part of his argument is that you have not. He knows you are afraid and it frightens him. He will be in the thick of any fighting and will be hurt. Possibly he will be killed since he is just a human and not a pokegirl or kami.” She hissed angrily. “I will be alone if that happens and it will be your fault and I will kill you.”
The demoness vanished as Jamie recalled her into her pokeball. He took a deep breath. “Sorry about that. Sometimes she gets on a tangent and won’t stop.”
Candace was staring at him in shock. “Is she right?”
He shrugged casually. “Of course not. Her reasoning is absurd.”
            “Are you lying to me?”
His eyes met hers. “Of course not.”
“Jamie Harris Wolf, you haven’t been able to lie to me since you were four.” Her eyes glittered. “She is right, isn’t she?” She sighed when Jamie looked away. “Son, you needn’t be afraid of this. Neither your father nor your grandfather would let you become kami if it could hurt you.”
“It’s ok for me, but not for you?”
Candace rubbed her hands together. “It’s ok for me, too; I’m just still working up to it. Don’t let that stop you.”
“Is this where I point out that you have less than twenty years left to work up to it and I’ve got over five hundred?”
Her eyes narrowed. “I see that Ginevra is probably a very cheerful pokegirl and it’s you that makes her unhappy and argumentative, since you’re doing the same to me right now.”
Jamie snickered. “Ginevra is Ginevra and there’s little anyone can do to affect her. Oh, and don’t change the subject.”
“One day, you’ll come to an evil end, mark my words.”
“I think that’s what Ginevra is worried about.” He leaned on the counter. “I understand you’re concerned about becoming kami. As a point of fact, so am I.” He raised his hands. “I really don’t like the idea of claws. I’ll probably tear off a testicle by accident while I’m getting used to them.”
She fought a smile and lost. “I think it’ll be more than one.”
He smiled back. “You’re probably right. And I’ll poke out an eye and tear off an ear, if it doesn’t move so far that I can find it without thinking.”
“There’s no guarantee you’ll have claws. Kasumi doesn’t.” She frowned. “I’m not sure about Dorothea.”
“She’s got claw buds but nothing has grown in yet. Dad says sometimes it takes a bit of time.”
            “Oh. Still, Kasumi doesn’t.”
Jamie sighed. “She’s not a representative sample. We should probably ask Kerrik.”
Her head cocked. “That could be a good idea. You do mean your grandfather, right?”
“He wanted me to call him Kerrik while we were exploring and it’s become a habit.” Ask Kerrik if he has a moment to talk to me and Candace.
            He’s on his way.
The door opened and Kerrik came in with a curious expression on his face. “Good afternoon, what’s up?” He flashed a quick smile. “Doc?” It vanished at the uncomprehending looks he received. “Never mind. You wanted to talk about something?”
Jamie nodded. “We’re having a talk about becoming kami and I’d like some technical input.”
Kerrik frowned slightly and then shrugged. “Ok. I’ll help as much as I can.”
“I thought you be more excited that we’re asking than this.”
His ears flicked. “Candace, I’ve learned not to celebrate until after the decision is made and usually not until after the change has taken place.”
“You’ve had people concerned about becoming kami before?”
He nodded. “That’s right. It’s a big step and one not to take lightly.”
Jamie ran his thumb over Ginevra’s pokeball. “Did anyone not make the change?”
“Some decided not to. It is a choice and I won’t force it on anyone.” His eyes narrowed. “Nor will I let it be forced upon anyone.”
“What if someone decides to change and then later regrets it?”
Kerrik blinked. “A bad choice is still a choice and it is irrevocable. However, I must point out that only a few people have regretted the change afterwards and usually there were mitigating circumstances.”
            “Like what?”
“I had a couple of children of purely human descent who chose to become kami because they thought they were in love with a spirit folk. I counseled patience but they were insistent.” He shrugged. “Youth tends to know everything. Afterwards, when the passion cooled and they broke up, there were some regrets for their lost humanity, but it never lasts long.”
Candace nodded. “That brings me to my concerns. I’m worried about losing my humanity and becoming some kind of monster.”
“Ah, you’re confusing the person with the being.” Kerrik hopped up on the counter and kicked his heels slowly against the wall underneath him. “You will become other than human.” A quick smile. “We tend to call it an improvement, but in this case I’m trying to address your concerns without sounding flippant.” The smile vanished. “I’ve never been human, so I can’t speak from experience, but what happens is the physical changes can be extensive. You become tougher and can absorb a lot more damage before becoming nonfunctional. Most kami regenerate to some extent and that ability tends to get stronger and faster as you get older.”
“Some kami gain some kind of shape changing ability, usually but not always based on the spirit creature of the individual. Some kami gain flight, phasing or short ranged teleportation, but many do not. As we age, we gain more powers and the abilities we already possess can become stronger.” He frowned. “Some kami gain claws. Like Shikarou and Faelan, some are retractile and can be of varying lengths.” He held up his hands. “Mine are not retractile and are almost indistinguishable from normal fingernails. Still others have no claws at all.”
Candace took one of his hands and examined it carefully as he continued. “All kami can use magic to some extent and if Jamie and Graeme choose to become kami, they’ll have to learn how to use their magic.”
“Physical senses are enhanced. Sight, hearing, olfactory sense, taste and touch all usually become more sensitive. In some cases they are reduced, but my line is very stable and I’ve never seen it in any of my children.”
Candace released his hand and he folded them in his lap. “However, that has nothing to do with your concerns. You as a person do not change when you become a kami. Candace, you and Jamie both are considerate and caring humans and you’ll be considerate and caring kami.”
She frowned. “Are you saying that none of the ones that changed have become evil?”
Kerrik shook his head. “No, some of them did. However, all of them had that tendency before they became kami in the first place. No good person has become bad because they embraced the change to kami. Kasumi is still enigmatic, Helen is still a considerate housekeeper who likes to have her husband nurse from her and Dorothea is still protective of everyone she cares for.”
            Candace blinked. “Husband?”
“I think that every member of Shikarou’s and Faelan’s harems is essentially a wife. None of you want to leave and both of my sons would sooner cut out their hearts than send any of you away.” Kerrik smiled proudly. “That was what comprised marriage long before someone with an agenda came up with a ceremony to formalize things.”
“You’re happy about that.” It wasn’t a question.
“Candace, I’ve been married and some of my marriages were wonderful and some of them weren’t. I think that both of my sons have made exemplary choices in the women that share their lives.” He smirked. “Needless to say, I think the women who have chosen my sons show excellent taste in men.”
The nursejoy chuckled softly. “We think so, too.”
“What about me,” Jamie asked curiously.
“You haven’t been with them long enough to reach that point.” Kerrik’s voice was gentle. “That’s not a slam on you, but none of you are in love with the others. I would like to caution you about Ginevra, though. Youma have a historical tendency to be loyal to Sukebe, but Ginevra was vetted for that. I suspect that the tendency still exists in her case and she’s fastened that loyalty to you, which means that as long as she lives she will be yours. That loyalty doesn’t mean she won’t attempt to manipulate your relationship to her benefit, but that has nothing to do with being loyal.”
He frowned. “When humans become kami, the changes are usually far more subtle than the ones that can be seen in kami who are born as such. They don’t have to have fangs or the ears of predators, although many do get pointed ears.”
His ears stilled. “I have to let you know that I haven’t seen Shikarou’s spell. He’s keeping it close and won’t let me see how it’s done, which is his right. However, I have seen other spells to make humans into kami and they are pretty general in nature. This means you take your chances on what will happen when the spell is cast.”
Jamie leaned against the wall and folded his arms. “Can you do any better than that?”
Kerrik eyed him briefly. “I can.”
            “How’s that possible?”
The kami shrugged. “You’ll hear from mages, that includes me by the way, that magic sometimes does as it wills when a spell is cast. In some measure that’s true, but the more you understand about the process you are duplicating, the more you can ensure that unexpected effects are minimized. For example, any mage who can cast a transformation spell can create a sword from a pile of metal as long as he has seen a sword beforehand. A mage who has some artistic ability can create an ornate sword. One who knows something about metallurgy can make one out of alloys and one who understands engineering can design a better sword.” He smiled slightly. “Shikarou can make some excellent swords because he understands something about all of those things as well as Japanese sword construction.”
“I have a background in genetics and genetic engineering. The process of making a human into a kami is a lot like engineering specific traits into an organism.” His ears flicked. “I’ve done that on occasion and I’ve performed transformations from human into kami under laboratory conditions. If you don’t want claws or fangs or something like that, I can make sure that the possibility of that happening is very remote. I can’t make any guarantees, but,” he shrugged.
Candace gave him a curious look. “What does the process entail?”
“I can do the change with the subject either awake or asleep. If you choose to be asleep, then I’ll use a chemical sedative. There’s going to be a lot magic used and I’m not going to chance having a sleeping spell make something go awry.”
            “Does it hurt?”
Kerrik sighed. “Let me guess, Shikarou did each of the transformations privately.” When she nodded, he audibly ground his teeth. “No, it doesn’t hurt if it’s done the right way.” His ears flicked back for a heartbeat. “I think I need to insist on seeing the spell he’s been using.” He pursed his lips. “I don’t normally do this, but how about a free sample?”
Candace looked at him suspiciously. “What do you mean?”
He sighed. “I feel like a drug pusher whenever I offer this, but I can let you simulate what it would feel like to be kami, at least as far as the enhanced senses feel. It wouldn’t be completely accurate, but it would give you a decent approximation.”
“Why do you feel like that?” Jamie pushed away from the wall and settled into a chair.
“It can be extremely seductive and I don’t want anyone to feel I’m pushing them.”
The nursejoy touched his hip. “This could be an invaluable tool for people like me and Jamie. Why are you so worried about it seeming like you’re pushing us?”
He gave her a neutral look. “Some people aren’t given a choice about being transformed and I’m willing to withhold it just to make sure nobody feels I’m trying to force them into this. I’ve seen it done before and I won’t stoop to that level.”
Her hand tightened. “We are adults. Let us decide that. I’d like to tell the rest of the harem about this and see if anyone is interested and I’d like to try it myself.”
“Me, too.” Jamie folded his arms and looked grumpily at his grandfather.
Kerrik looked from one to the other. “Very well.” He held up his hand and a golden sphere of glowing energy four centimeters in diameter appeared. It divided in two and floated to hover in front of Candace and Jamie. “All you have to do is touch it.”
Jamie and Candace looked at each other for a long moment until the nursejoy smiled suddenly. “On three?”
“Sure. One. Two. Three.” Both of them touched the spheres, which dissolved into their bodies and vanished.
Candace blinked and frowned. “What is that buzzing noise?”
Kerrik chuckled softly. “Your console has an intermittent short and it’s acting up right now. It’s been going on for months.”
            “Why didn’t you say something?”
“It isn’t affecting the operation of anything and I wasn’t positive that you didn’t already know about it. I’ve never been human and I’m not sure where your sensory limits are.”
“Oh.” She rotated her head slowly, pinpointing the sound. “I’ll ask someone to take a look at it. I don’t want it to fail during the move.”
Jamie was peering around the room. “What’s changed? Everything looks slightly different.”
“Your range of vision has expanded into the high infrared and low ultraviolet.”
“Wow.” He frowned slightly. “I think Ginevra sees into the infrared. Some of this reminds me of looking through her eyes.”
“That might be worth investigating once things settle down a bit.”
Candace sniffed the air. “Why do I smell blood and sex?” She gave Kerrik a suspicious look and he shook his head.
“Don’t look at me, it’s coming from Jamie.” Jamie turned bright red and Kerrik grinned. “Considering I also smell crushed vegetation and Ginevra, I suspect he got a quickie before coming here. Most of us with sensitive noses tend to bathe after sex unless we like showing off our prowess. We also don’t wear lots of perfume or use scented soaps.”
            Jamie sputtered. “I didn’t know.”
Kerrik laughed quietly. “It’s ok. The only person who flaunts his prowess deliberately around here is Shikarou. He likes to carry the scents of his women on his skin.”
Now Candace turned red. “He does?” She wafted air from her waist up and sniffed again. Her flush spread down neck, over her chest and beneath her uniform. “I’ll be right back.” She turned and almost ran from the room.
Kerrik watched her go and chuckled. “In many ways, she’s a very remarkable woman.”
“There are some nursejoys in storage that we got from Glasgow. Are you going to take one?”
He shrugged and hopped off the counter. “Being a nursejoy doesn’t necessarily make one remarkable; Candace is special because of who she is, far more than what she is. I think I’ll continue to wait to acquire pokegirls until we finish the move.”
“Isn’t that just a way to delay keeping your promise to Svetlana?”
“No, it’s not. She knows I’m waiting until after the move.” He twisted to give Jamie a curious look. “How’d you know about that?”
He grinned. “She’s enlisted help in researching what your likes are.”
            Kerrik rolled his eyes. “Wonderful.”
“You can tell yourself she’s only trying to help.” Jamie blinked at the flat look his grandfather gave him. “On the other hand, why don’t you just leave me out of this?”
Candace wants to remind you to remember to take your new pokegirl.
Jamie rose. “I’d almost forgotten about her. I came here to get a new pokegirl for my harem and not to subject you to the inquisition.”
Kerrik swiveled on the counter and dropped on the restricted side. “Well, there’s a pokeball on the platform.” He picked it up and offered it to Jamie. “Make sure it’s the one you want.”
“You really need to take your tamer’s test.”
“Why? In a couple of weeks it won’t matter.”
Jamie scanned the pokeball and attached it to his belt. “I’m not sure about that. I think Candace intends to continue giving tests and I think you’re at the top of her list of people whose knowledge she wants to gauge.”
Kerrik made a face. “Isn’t that bleeding wonderful?”
“You’d better not let Candace hear that kind of language.”
Kerrik’s eyes narrowed. “Excuse me. Isn’t that fucking wonderful? Is that better?”
Jamie snickered. “Oh, this is going to be fun.”
***
Jamie glanced around the taming room and shut the locker holding his clothing and gear. Normally, he’d prefer to do this in his room or outside, but if she was feral, his newest pokegirl could prove problematic in any except carefully controlled circumstances.
His twee whispered in his mind. I’ve got control of the sprinkler system. If things get out of control, I’ll spray the room with water to stop any fires.
He picked up the pokeball and released the occupant. She stood roughly 160 centimeters tall and was much fuller figured than either of his other pokegirls. The metallic gold string bikini that she wore was three tiny triangles that hid only the tiniest portions of her anatomy.
Strawberry blonde hair hung down to brush the tops of her hips and green eyes blinked as she looked into his blue ones. Red furred ears flicked slowly and her bushy tail drooped as she peered around the room before returning her attention to him. She looked like a young woman with a fox’s ears and tail. “Did Master Alvin sell me to you, sir” she asked softly. “He promised me that he’d never wager me in a battle, but he never said he wouldn’t sell me.”
Jamie shook his head slowly. “No, he didn’t sell you or lose you. I’m afraid he was killed.” He’d thought she was feral and, inwardly, he quailed at the thought of telling her that and then taming her.
The foxymaiden blinked. “Oh.” Her ears flicked. “How long was I in storage, sir?”
“As far as I know, you were in storage for a couple of months. There were some complications that had to be dealt with before you could be released. What is your name?”
Her tail swished slowly. “My name is Paige, sir. Will you be changing it?”
“I think that sounds like a good name, so no.”
She nodded and reached up to untie the bikini top. “Thank you, sir.” Jaime felt himself stiffening as her breasts spilled free and she smiled as she watched his body respond. She sauntered forward until her nipples were brushing against his chest. She gave him a teasing look. “You like?”
He kissed her hungrily and she responded by wrapping her arms and legs around him as she kissed him back. Her bikini clad pussy ground against his erection as he gripped her ass and held her in place.
Jamie lurched in the direction of the bed and laid Paige down on the edge of it. She giggled and let him go. A quick flick of his hand and her bottoms fell away.
Her eyes widened when he slid between her legs and his mouth covered her. They slowly closed as she let out a low moan of pleasure when his tongue parted her folds. She grabbed the sheets in her hands as he licked her pussy and her legs fell apart to grant him free access to her core. Her moans grew louder as he lapped at her, and when he took her nub in his mouth and sucked, she whined and shivered beneath his touch. Her body went taut and her whine grew louder as an orgasm ripped through her body.
Jamie licked his way up her stomach and into the valley between her full breasts as she panted loudly. She whimpered when he took a nipple in his mouth and tangled her fingers in his hair as he suckled. He bit down gently and she hissed in pleasure as she rubbed herself against him sinuously, trying to work his head into her wetness. Her legs wrapped around his waist and pulled in vain as he resisted with his superior strength.
She whined again and raised her hips to blindly thrust herself against him, seeking relief as he shifted to her other breast. “Please,” she whispered/moaned. He slowly forced his head between her petals and she sighed, relaxing beneath him.
He groaned as he sank into her wetness and raised his head to kiss her. She was tight and he had to pull back and then slowly thrust to work more of himself into her wet heat until he was buried completely inside her. Then he began slowly thrusting as she came to life beneath him, raising her hips to meet his thrusts. Her tail slapped at his thighs, distracting him for a moment before he identified the strange feeling of fur against his skin. Then he ignored it to continue driving himself into her.
She moaned and her nails locked in the skin of his back as another orgasm tore through her. “Yes,” she murmured. “Faster, master.” Jamie sped up and Paige whined again through gritted teeth as another orgasm built and then swept through her.
Jamie felt his orgasm building and slowed his thrusts in order to draw out the pleasure burning through him.
“Faster, master,” Paige urged him and wrapped her legs back around his waist, thrusting to meet him until their bodies slapped together loudly. Her moans grew louder until she hissed and sank her teeth into his shoulder as he spilled his seed into her body.
Slowly, they relaxed and Paige rolled him off of her. She smiled and kissed him gently on the lips before trailing more kisses down his chest and over his stomach. She tossed her head and dropped a curtain of strawberry blonde hair between their eyes as she began to lick him clean.
Jamie groaned and let himself relax as her hair tickled his stomach and her tongue danced over his cock, never going where he expected. He felt himself stir and grow beneath her attentions and when he was fully erect, she giggled and warm lips engulfed him. Her head bobbed as she sucked and she slicked her hair back over her head so he could watch as his cock disappeared into her mouth over and over until he started trying to thrust into her mouth.
She looked up at him and smiled around his cock before pulling him free of her mouth with a soft popping sound and sliding up his body to impale herself on him. She rode him quickly, her body slamming into his as her muscles milked his cock until he exploded inside her. Then she held still until he softened inside her and slowly leaned forward to lie on top of him, licking the sweat from his neck and face until they fell asleep together.

Nanu glanced around the room and dropped into a chair with a sigh. “I never thought I’d be glad for an excuse to leave training, but I’m very happy to be here.”
Madison giggled. “Feeling your age?” She sobered when the mini-top’s eyes narrowed dangerously.
“I can still kick your arse.”
“Only if I give up my cards and you get to keep all your weapons.”
Paige leaned against Jamie and watched the budding fight with wide eyes.
“That’s enough from both of you.” Kerrik eyed them until they subsided. “Good.”
Amy smirked at them before turning back to the kami. “Why are we here?”
“You are the weapon expert for your family and Nanu is the one for hers. Jamie, Ginevra and Madison are here because they’re all firearms trained and I’m going to tap them to be instructors at large. Paige is here because she’s Jamie’s and she’ll learn.” He lifted a heavy case onto the table and pressed his thumb against the lock. “Now, to see what you are going to be learning and later teaching.”
He opened the case and placed a pistol, a submachine gun and a rifle on the table, along with some ammunition boxes and magazines.
Nanu leaned forward interestedly. “I don’t recognize any of those.”
“You’ve never seen them before.” Kerrik checked the pistol and tossed it to her. “It is a new 10mm pistol that fires caseless ammunition and SAP rounds.”
Ginevra stirred. “What are SAP rounds?”
“Yeah.” Nanu tossed the pistol to Amy. “It’s lighter than I expected for a 10mm. The kick is going to be a bitch.”
Kerrik shook his head. “All of these weapons are recoilless. The sniper rifle isn’t, but we won’t see it until we get to the firing range.”
Jamie blinked. “Recoilless pistols? That’s going to be interesting.”
            “What are SAP rounds?”
Kerrik smiled. “Apparently Ginevra isn’t going to be dissuaded.” He handed her the submachine gun and the rifle to Madison. “SAP is shorthand for Special Anti-Pokegirl. As I’ve said before, there are two problems with using firearms on pokegirls. First, you have to hit them. Pokegirls are often fast and agile which can make hits hard to achieve. However, with proper training, this can be minimized.” He smiled slightly. “Training that everyone in this room has had.”
“What about you?” Amy’s ears flicked as he turned to look at her questioningly. “Where did you get your training?”
Kerrik nodded. “You know the Tirsuli militias that trained Faelan and Shikarou? I’ve been involved with them for centuries. Is that acceptable?” He continued when she nodded. “SAP rounds are not extremely advanced tech, but they are beyond the current means of anyone in the leagues; although they might be able to produce a version that is much less capable using terrestrial based propellants and explosives.”
“Essentially a SAP round is a tiny HEAT round. For pistols, the 10 mm round used travels at 450 meters per second and a ball round would deliver a respectable thousand joules of energy on impact. The rifle round’s velocity is 750 mps and a ball round would hit for seven thousand joules.” He paused for emphasis. “However, the SAP round detonates on impact and collapses a shroud into a tiny bolt that travels at more than fifteen thousand mps. That’s fifteen kilometers per second and is well into the hypersonic range. It is armor piercing for about three centimeters of travel and then it fragments, conducting most of its kinetic energy to the target instead of punching straight through.”
            “Sounds impressive.”
Kerrik smiled cruelly. “It is. Nothing organic can resist a direct hit from one of them and since they’ll eat their way through several centimeters of armor or rock, it’ll work well on the technological or inorganic pokegirls. They also work as light anti-armor rounds. Yes, I am aware that almost nobody makes armored vehicles anymore, but where we’re going one of them might turn up from time to time.”
Nanu frowned. “I expected you to make something that stronger pokegirls could use.”
“There is a 15 millimeter pistol, SMG and rifle for people with enhanced strength. The problem is that size limitations won’t let me design them to be completely recoilless; however, I’ve reduced it as much as possible. I also designed a 30 mm light cannon or sniper rifle for you, Nanu, as well as anyone else who is interested.”
            “Oh. That sounds like fun.”
“After we do some field stripping and basic maintenance, the firing range is the next step. There you’ll get to see just how much fun this is going to be.”
“I don’t suppose we could skip the lecture and go straight to the practical. They’ll need to be cleaned afterwards and we could learn then.” Nanu gave him a hopeful smile and tried to look cute.
Kerrik started putting everything back into the case. “I suppose I could give a quick practical on the line and go into detail afterwards.” His eyes flicked up to meet hers. “If you try to bail on me afterward, I’ll be cross.”
A lazy smile crossed her face. “I’d never think about doing that.”
“Are you aware that I can tell when people lie?”
She blinked and her ears flicked slowly. “Ok, I’d think about it, but if I don’t learn everything I can, then Branwyn will tear me a new orifice when she finds out. That gives me a very powerful incentive to stick around.”
“Fair enough.” He sealed the case and lifted it easily onto his shoulder. “If everyone would follow me, we’ll go kill some defenseless targets.”

Charlene walked briskly down the hall, pausing at a window to watch the setting sun. Considering the plans the Blue League had for everyone here, she found it oddly appropriate. The school year was over and the students had been gone for a week.
She frowned unconsciously as she thought. The school had started laying in supplies earlier than she’d thought necessary, but Kasumi had reassured her and Dr. Williams that since prices were low; it was time to start purchasing then. She’d even produced records showing that the school had done this in the past, but something didn’t seem quite right and the megami-sama was determined to find out what was going on.
Finally, Charlene sighed and headed for her tamer’s quarters. She was outside their door when someone slammed into her back and smashed her face first against the wall.
Someone chuckled. “Careful, Candace, you’re still learning your new strength.” A hand wound in Charlene’s hair and pulled her head back. “She’s ok, you just split her lip.”
Candace spun Charlene around and levered her arm up, bringing the megami-sama up on her toes, hissing in pain. “She’ll be lucky if that’s all I do.” She leaned close to the pokegirl’s ear. “Scream and I’ll see if I can pull it out of its socket.” She glanced at her accomplice. “Can she teleport, Poppet?”
The unicorn shook her head. “No, I’ve blocked teleportation for the next couple of hours.” She took Charlene’s chin and looked into her eyes. “Stop playing at being stunned. If you do anything stupid, I’ll kill you right now. If you stay still, I’ll let you live.”
A male voice sounded. “I don’t want her dead.” Kerrik stepped into her line of sight as Poppet moved to take Charlene’s free arm. “We haven’t met yet, but I’m Kerrik Wolf.”
The megami-sama’s eyes narrowed. “I’ve heard of you. Release me immediately. I am an agent of the Blue League and you are in serious trouble, but if you let me go, I’ll ignore this incident.”
Kerrik’s ears flicked. “You must not know much about me if you’d try to lie.” He smiled slightly. “Candace and Poppet agreed to assist me since their children will be the most likely targets.” His smile died. “I am Stephen and Graeme’s grandfather and I’m here to warn you and the celestials who are working to bring down my family.”
Charlene sniffed. “And what is your warning?”
“I want you to leave Stephen and Graeme completely alone. Don’t contact them, don’t hunt them, do not try to get the Blue League involved against them and do not try to insert your people into their harems. Nothing, do you hear me?”
“You aren’t in a position to give me orders.”
Kerrik smiled slowly. “Are you a student of history? Real history, I mean, not just the last three hundred years.”
Charlene blinked and was silent until Candace twisted her arm up higher. She whimpered and shook her head. “No.”
“Do you know what the word decimation means?”
            “No.”
“In Roman times, it was used on units that failed to execute orders. Every tenth man was executed.” He leaned forward and looked directly into her eyes. “If my grandchildren are bothered in any way by the Blue League or by the celestials for which you work, I will kill every celestial in the Blue League and then ten percent of the remaining population of humans and pokegirls.” His fangs gleamed as he smiled savagely. “And if any of the celestials are away from the Blue League when this happens, I will hunt them down and kill them anyway.”
            Charlene’s voice held a sneer. “I don’t believe you.”
“I didn’t think you would.” Kerrik reached out and pressed the tip of his index finger against the megami-sama’s head. Charlene’s eyes widened and the color drained from her face. “I will do what is necessary to protect my family.”
She began to tremble. “Make it stop,” she moaned. “Please, make it stop.”
Kerrik shook his head. “You will need to be able to convince the others. With that, they will believe you, but I suggest you try to be sincere when you speak to them. Very sincere.”
She went limp, with only Candace and Poppet holding her up, moaning in a low voice. “Will it stop when I have convinced them? Please, please tell me it will stop.”
Kerrik dug a nail into her split lip until she looked up at him, wincing in pain. “Your petty vendetta ruined Jamie’s life. For that, you will carry what I have given you until the day you die.” He leaned in and slowly licked the blood from her lip. “He is my grandson too, you fucking bitch, and this is your punishment. And don’t worry; I’ll make sure that you will live a long life indeed. Do you believe me now?”
Her reply was almost inaudible. “Yes.”
Kerrik gestured and the two pokewomen released Charlene to collapse to the floor. Silently they headed away from her as tears began flowing down her face.
