During the Revenge War, one of the mainstays of Sukebe's early attacking pokegirls was the venerable Charmela breed. Capable of reducing entire platoons to ashes or melting metal from armored vehicles with repeated usage of fire attacks at mid to close ranges, the breed was even capable of avoiding attacks from airborne attackers in helicopters when human forces were still able to utilize them in the beginning and middle stages of the war. As the war went on, however, and more powerful pokegirls began to appear within Sukebe's armies, the Charmela was seen less and less on the front lines, instead serving more as guards for his various strongholds and forward command posts for his pokegirl forces. However, due to their being some of the (relatively) weakest of the fire-type pokegirls, they were also one of the first breeds to be 'converted' to use by human tamers and pitted against their former comrades. After the war, and long afterward, the Charmela breed became well known and highly sought after in many leagues due to their ease of handling and their capabilities in capturing other pokegirls, both feral and non. Though originally the breed was called Charmelons by human tamers, eventually the name degenerated into Charmela in many leagues.

Physically, the Charmela typically stands between 1.5 and 1.8m in height. Though they are roughly humanoid in appearance, a tail that extends from the base of the spine that is as long as the individual is tall, as well as a scaly epidermis that is commonly some shade of red, gray, or black (dark green, blue, and the very rare albino are also known, but far less common compared to the main three) certainly makes it difficult for the breed to pass as human. Their lower arms and legs from the knees down are larger than a human's, scales covering the lower portions of their limbs. Though each hand still retains four fingers and a thumb, they are clawed. The feet, however, have only three front toes and a single toe behind the heel of the foot, which makes them quite unlike a human's. The breed has two sets of glands upon their back and tail which glow and appear as flames from those parts of the pokegirl- while one might suspect that the pokegirl's flame attacks might emerge from such locations, they are merely bioluminescent organs that actually depict the locations of the breed's poison glands upon their body. It is from her tail and her back where her various poison techniques are 'exhausted' from, whether in powder or vaporous forms. Though they are considered quite warm-blooded, due to their Heat Aura the pokegirl can also work well in colder climates, while still not being overly hot like certain other fire-type pokegirl breeds.

In battles, the Charmela typically fights at long to medium ranges, as that is where she can do the most damage. Surprisingly, the pokegirl works well utilizing hit and run tactics, to utilize her various poisonous techniques and then rushing away while attacking using her fire based techniques or Needleshot. The pokegirl's own poison techniques are rarely capable of being used effectively at range, other than their Needleshot technique, which requires either sweeping motions with her tail or to eject the needles from the poison glands on her back in order to either aim or attack with it. However, when her various powder and venom attacks are used in conjunction with the pokegirl's Ignite technique, however, it actually serves to double the range of the flames that covers the pokegirl's body, and has been reported to leave an after-image of the pokegirl when in battle, serving as a mirage to unsuspecting opponents. Coupled with the various toxins that the pokegirl can produce, the combination of techniques can even serve to create a Poison Mist or Cloud style technique in her immediate vicinity. Though quite effective, and ferals even utilize this combination, most Charmela simply utilize it in order to facilitate a hasty retreat from the front lines.

The Charmela breed of pokegirl is one of the most popular, and easily obtainable, fire-types in the world, though they may be a bit more rare in certain areas with very cold climates. Many tamers worldwide have stated that they have had a Charmela in their harem at some point in time, and they are one of the most rarely sold by tamers due to the breed's usefulness. They are also often kept by tradesmen, serving commonly as waste disposers when other pokegirls are unavailable, by police and fire department forces, and are commonly used by league tamers in handling defense of villages, towns, and cities. While the breed is typically considered an excellent choice for many harems due to their versatility and (for a fire-type) non-volatile nature, the breed tends to be quite active and requires daily activity when not in a pokeball. Taming a Charmela is not an issue, as their Heat Aura and body temperature, while higher than the human average by several degrees (roughly around 38 degrees celsius), is not extreme enough to require precautions on the part of the human doing the taming.

Feral Charmela are easy to locate, as they tend to form packs and live in the ruins of old human cities and towns. However, getting to them is difficult at best, since many packs wind up within the heart of the ruins, which means that tamers or hunters would need to get past ferals living within the outskirts and inner portions of the ruins that the Charmela pack rarely frequent. However, their intelligence shines even when feral, and can and will light fires at night after gathering wood during the day- which can simultaneously repel other ferals, or draw them in, which can turn it into a trap if the Charmela pack is primarily nocturnal. This has even been known to work on human tamers expecting to find other tamers in the area due to the signs of a lit fire, only to find themselves prey to the Charmela pack upon discovery. Threshold cases are quite rare, as most change into a Charamanda instead, but is a relatively painless procedure. The changing girl does need a constant supply of nourishment, however, and many do require being cooled off during the three day threshold process when their body temperatures rise to the point of being uncomfortable, often before the rest of their body completes the changes. Threshold Charmela are often coveted as pets, due to their education while human, and due to their versatility in and around the house.
