Discovered in 132AS, the first individual to be captured was an older female wearing a collar. The collar was clothing, not any anti-capture device, and bore no identifying marks. Once tamed, it was apparent that the pokegirl had been either level fived or had her memory erased prior to being released into the wilderness, as her only memory was of awakening in a wooded area. The pokegirl called herself a Joulite, and researchers have used this name for the breed, but are stumped as to their origin. These animorphic pokegirl's ability to produce electricity made them contenders for popularity early on, and their numbers have increased worldwide since their discovery. It is common to see Joulite owned by cities working and producing electricity.

Like most animorphic pokegirls, this electric/rock breed comes in a variety of appearances, usually leaning towards the furred end of appearance possibilities. The breed is based on the Thylacine, an extinct marsupial. Average individuals have pelts of a golden-brown hue with albinism or hypermelanism being more common amongst the breed. Across the back beginning at just below the shoulder blades are a series of horizontal stripes that thicken until they reach the tail, then begin to recede again and end at the backs of the knees. These stripes are darker in younger individuals and lighten with age. Being digigrade in gait is common among the breed, and muzzles are usually full when present. All members of the breed have distinctive ears, sitting on top of the skull in typical animorphic fashion. However, their ears are nearly square, with a thin, clear, circular membrane near the tops of the ears. This makes the ears seem to have a hole in them, though the membrane is a biosynthetic clear silicon disc. All individuals also have tails, which are usually striped near the body. On the end of the tail is a blunted silicon tip, almost resembling a closed aglet, from which the breed can focus some of their electric techniques and adds a heavy blow to strikes done with their tail. This breed is also unusual in that they can open their mouths twice as wide as most other pokegirls. Individuals with muzzles have the ability to open them to 120 degrees, while those without muzzles are limited somewhat by the neck. The breed does not have pouches, likely due to the backwards pouch of the animal base being a hazard for bipedal movement.

In personality polls, the top three personality traits selected by most owners of a Joulite were energetic, impetuous, and obsessive. The breed has a reputation for becoming fan girls of things like comics, sports, or movies, but this is not a breed-wide phenomenon. Like many electric types, these thylacine pokegirls are fairly energetic in personality, though this can be tempered by individual experience and overall temperament. Most individuals also utilize their ability to interface with computers. This seems to be a sort of 'wireless' ability, as the pokegirl does not connect any part of her body to a computer. Their ability for programming is highly dependent on the individual, and does not reach the level of true tech breeds like the Cyber-nymph.

Though not often considered for a starter pokegirl due to their lack of evolutions, these marsupial pokegirls are often rated as moderately powerful, with high train-ability and adaptability scores. While a bit slower than most electric types, it is the Joulite's strength and durability that make them more up-front battlers than speedsters. These silicon pokegirls often wade into battle, using their powerful muscles to produce their needed electricity as well as to knock opponents flying. Pokegirls that are capable of withstanding their blows long enough to counterstrike often have the advantage, such as dragon, ground, or other rock types. These thylacine pokegirls have a particular problem with plant types, as both of their attacking elements are rendered next to useless against them.

Due to the breed's high strength and inability to completely control it, restraints are a nessicity when taming a Joulite. The tail in particular should be restrained somehow, as the hard tip can cause injury. Due to the nessicity of these precautions, many members of the breed are divided into those who enjoy being bound, or those who try to find ways to be tamed safely without restraints. Though these methods are often creative, it is strongly reccomended that tamers make sure they are safe at all times, as taming injuries are one of the most common and often fatal injuries in the world.

Ferals are primarily nocturnal, hunting at night and sleeping during the day. Most often they prey on Kattle or weak pokegirls and humans. Joulites form small packs of around 6-14 individuals, though this is for socializing only and not for hunting (the breed hunts alone or rarely in pairs). Kits are typically sheltered together and fed primarily by the mother when still nursing, though once kits are able to eat solids other adults have been observed delivering food. It is much harder to catch a Joulite during the daytime, as this is when the breed is denned up with their pack for sleeping, and the number of pokegirls makes raiding the den a danger. Capturing one just after sunset or just before sunrise is often the best choice, as then the pokegirl is typically alone.

Direct Threshold into a Joulite tends to only happen with a family history of the breed. Dislocation and numbing of the jaw is often the first sign of threshold, as the ligiments and structure there are the first to change. This makes eating difficult, and many thresholders have to be fed either a liquid diet or via IV. Shortly after the jaw begins to change, the bones in the feet will begin to do so if the thresholder is destined to have a digigrade gait. Ear migration, tail growth, and fur growth come last, and within 7-11 days the transformation is complete. Completion is marked by the return of feeling and movement to the jaw. Thresholders are usually sold to power companies due to their power generation abilities.
