Of the various strategies employed during the War of Revenge, salting once fertile fields lasted as a devastating blow only until plant types capable of purifying the soil were tamed. The Pebbelle was the chief instrument in this tactic, with the ability to pull salt from deeper within the earth and poison fields with it. Used in modern times to control salinity in a variety of industries, the Pebbelle's biggest current use is in the production of common table salt.

Hadrosaurs, also called duck-billed dinosaurs, are the basis for the Pebbelle's forms. The breed's taming form runs along the bell curve of Near Human appearances. All individuals have a tail, crest, and scales for skin. These crests are typically narrow, running down the center of the head starting at the brow and coming free of the skull at the crown. Crests come in a variety of shapes and sizes, some being able to be hidden within larger hair styles and others rising as much as 8 inches (20 centimeters) above the skull. Scales are usually browns and greys, while the height of the breed stays within human norms. Animorphic taming forms usually have slight muzzles and an overall appearance closer to that of their battle form.

The transformation into the breed's battle form leaves the Pebbelle as a near exact replica of a species of Hadrosaur, typically those from the Charonosaurus or Hypacrosaurus genus although scaled down. Heights range from 4.9 - 8.2 feet (1.5 - 2.5 meters) with lengths of 12.3 - 20.5 feet (3.75 - 6.25 meters). Coloration occasionally changes slightly in this form, though this is more true for individuals that are closer to human in appearance in their taming form.

A large reason for the breed having sweet in their moniker, is the overall disposition commonly being described as friendly, extroverted, or happy. It seems that due to the breed's empathy, most individuals prefer to promote positive emotions, though individuals have as many methods of doing so as their are individuals. Occasionally, this also leads to the breed being described as meek or servile. Most make excellent betas, able to lend their empathetic skills to soothe over harem problems, though their ability to motivate their harem sisters in training is hit or miss.

Employing a balanced mix of both ground and water techniques, this hadrosaur breed tends to blast with water, soil, sand, earth, mud, and these may also be infused heavily with salt, making a simple water gun blinding (or burning in the case of open wounds). The breed's crest is also used to blast areas with sonic waves, as the breed knows Bass Explosion naturally, and can generally easily pick up most sonic based techniques. Tamers often train their Pebbelles to be aggressive, as most naturally attempt to incapacitate. The breed can store around fifty gallons of water and/or salt, only needing to refill if this is depleted (many clean up after their battles to avoid being low on supplies). Plant based pollen techniques are a particular weakness, and many members of the breed have fallen against simple powders.

The noted empathy of the breed makes them easy to please during taming, as most tend to lock onto their tamer's emotions and share physical satisfaction. Taming preferences tend to vary by individual, though the breed has been noted to not mind the use of oils or other items to 'get dirty' while taming. Aquatic tamings are also noted, though this may be the breed conforming to their tamers preferences.

Feral Pebbelles are typically found near wetlands, along rivers, and particularly near salt water. Occasionally, studies have shown that the breed creates marshes due to their activities, which seems to lend credence that wetlands are their favored habitat. These herbivorous pokegirls browse vegetation both above and below the water, and are known to be wary of humans. Surprise tends to be the best method of capture, though this is extremely hard due to the breed's empathy and danger sense. Having a ground or rock type or some way to block escape through the ground is vital, as this breed tends to flee first. Plant, Ice, and Flying types typically have an edge if a feral is trapped above ground.

Typically lasting two weeks, threshold into a Pebbelle begins with everything tasting salty. The reality is that the breed's ability to sense the saline content of anything comes first, skewing the thresholder's senses into thinking they're tasting salt constantly. This is quickly followed by chills and dermatitis as the scales grow in. Finally, the physical changes commence, usually only causing minor discomfort. The transition ends once the thresholder can transform into her battle form, completing the change into a pokegirl. Thresholders are typically sold into various industries.
