Thundermaidens, also called Oni in some regions, are beautiful very near human girls with well toned, but not muscular, bodies and slightly longer than usual legs. They have no set eye color though when they are using their electromagnetic flight ability their eyes glow white. Most have hair that is blond, white or electric blue in color but other shades have been seen as well. And some, especially those that evolved from Tomboys in the Edo region, have small horn like growths on the top of their head. Research is still undergoing as to just why some have horns and others don't. It is this horned variety of Thundermaidens that is most commonly referred to as Oni.

Personality wise these girls vary a bit depending on how powerful they are. However the vast majority of Thundermaidens love flying and tend to use their electromagnetic flight ability whenever possible. They also tend to be very intelligent. Many love to flaunt their bodies, especially those that evolved from Tomboys, and tend to wear skimpy clothes that emphasis their bust and long legs. Some younger Thundermaidens tend to be a bit possessive of their tamers and occasionally have fits of jealousy and rage when they feel they are not be appreciated enough; this tends to be more common in the Oni variety. As they get older and more powerful they gain a lot of self-control and discipline becoming more serious and wise in nature. It has also been noted that a Thundermaiden's libido decreases as they age as well and some researchers believe this is due to their increased self-discipline, but research has so far been inconclusive on this point.

When it comes to sex tamers are often in for a shocking situation. Literally. While most common in the Oni variety, many Thundermaidens enjoy using small amounts of electricity to stimulate their partners and themselves. Younger Thundremaidens can sometimes be a bit excessive when it comes to the shocking although thankfully they never seem to get so excessive as to be life threatening. More powerful Thundermaidens learn to focus their shocking habit into focusing on pleasure centers of the body to enhance the taming experience and eventually even learn the Pleasure Spark ability. This means that they can often do extremely well in sex battles. On the flip side this fetish means that opponents with sexually related shocking abilities almost always defeat them. Other than this tendency for shocking Thundermaidens have no real preferences during taming.

In more conventional battles Thundermaidens tend to go full out and are easily on par in power to the more common and popular Peekabu and Ria breeds. They prefer to fly around the battlefield using their electromagnetic flight ability while unleashing their most powerful abilities upon their opponent so to end the battle quickly. In fact one of that hardest parts in training a Thundermaiden is teaching them to not be so excessive that they accidentally kill their opponents with elemental weakness' to them. Tamers also need to remember that just how good a Thundermaiden is at using her electromagnetic flight ability depends on how powerful she is. Weaker Thundermaidens often struggle to change direction while flying and can barely get a few feet off the ground. However, stronger members of the breed are capable of great aerial acrobats and can fly up high into the atmosphere.

This is largely why most tamers find it hard to capture powerful feral Thundermaidens. Feral Thundermaidens lose the ability to turn off their electromagnetic flight. While the weaker ones tend to fly around relatively close to the ground and be a bit oblivious to things as they are to caught up in the simple enjoyment of flying; the more powerful feral Thundermaidens often live their entire lives high up in the atmosphere where it is extremely difficult to get to them, much less capture them. Because of the difficulty in finding and capturing Thundermaidens the vast majority of those in harems tend to have been evolved from Tomboys.
