The first tech type pokegirl to be witnessed, Video Girls were used during the war to retrieve sensitive data and destroy the original copies as well as infiltrate computer systems world wide and disrupt programs for targeting and other battle related systems. This virtual breed was a devastating force, at first undetectable before some of the few surviving computer experts waged a virtual war. Stand alone networks and various viral programs that targeted the breed specifically helped combat this breed even though very few Video Girls truly met their ends thanks to their Life Disks.

These 6-10 inch (15 - 25.5 cm) diameter disks are said to be the 'true form' of the pokegirl breed, as this disk can attach itself to any computer to allow the virtual, or VR, form of the Video Girl to manifest inside. Should the VR form be destroyed, it becomes a data stream which returns to the life disk and allows the pokegirl to reform. These disks also contain 'backup' versions of the pokegirl to be formed should the VR body and data be completely deleted. This backup activation has to be done manually. Only a complete wipe of the life disk can destroy a Video Girl.

When Sukebe was defeated Video Girls as a breed surrendered, offering their services as network coordinators and data managers. To a trusted few they gave the secrets of their disks, as well as the secret to making more of them. Today, all Leagues have this virtual breed, their disks hidden in secret, well-guarded locations with Tamers to maintain them. Others are under the command of wandering Tamers, these individuals usually keep in touch with others of their breed, and most will refuse any request that may damage the network or any of their ‘sisters,’ no matter the cost to themselves. Extremely rare are the unfortunate pokegirls that have fallen into the hands of Team Rocket-style groups, most of whom have gone insane from attempts to reprogram them, or been corrupted into the Virus Vidgirl subtype (or both).

Occasionally argued as a pokegirl mimicking AI, the Video Girls as a breed can be broken into three subtypes. The first are the 'regular' members of the breed, those who have more than 26% of their basic programming intact and haven't been corrupted into viral versions of the breed. Those who have had repeated upgrades so that 25% or less of their base programming is intact are considered Video Girl Upgrades. This subtype usually only applies to highly experienced or older members of the breed. Virus Vidgirls are those that have been corrupted by botched attempts to reprogram them. These individuals are often mentally damaged as well as physically corrupted, and are usually highly dangerous due to their destructive natures. Most Leagues have bounties placed for capturing, killing, or otherwise stopping these damaged pokegirls from harming networks.

Normally, it requires a programmer of great skill to create an Upgrade, since it's extraordinarily hard for a Video Girl to upgrade herself too drastically without help, most of the breed has, out of necessity, a love for the technologically skilled. It should also be noted that, due to the recompiling process, no changes can be made whilst the pokegirl is physically manifested. While these programmers are normally humans, other genius and programming breeds have also had a hand in fashioning upgrades for their virtual cousins.

In addition to the subtypes, this electric pokegirl also has two forms, depending on if the breed is manifested in a computer or in the real world. Usually called the virtual or VR form when within a computer and physical or IRL form when in the real world, Video Girls vary greatly in both realms, though individuals are usually still recognizable in both forms due to similarities with their forms. Appearance customization is perhaps the easiest upgrade to apply to this breed, and as such even regular Video Girls can look completely human or utterly inhumanoid. Members of the breed themselves can even perform this feat, which means that even owners with little to no programming skills can have their pokegirl look exactly as they like.

Other upgrades for the breed are more difficult, though most members of the breed are able to adjust their personalities slightly to make themselves more pleasing to those they've bonded to. Overall, the intelligence of the breed is said to rival those more intelligent breeds, and Upgraded members of the breed can even solve problems at greater speeds than most strictly organic breeds. Usually these virtual pokegirls are described as logical and emotionless, and are generally as hungry for new data as Zeromers. This extends to the breed when in physical form as well.

Once downloaded completely into their life disks, this virtual pokegirl breed can manifest a hologram that can be physically interacted with, even on the most intimate of levels. The only commonality to this IRL form is various ports that allow the breed to connect to a computer (these may be hidden), and the breeds life disk, acting as a projector for their physical form. Once able to interact with the physical world, this breed immerses themselves in sensations, and are prone to hedonistic behaviors until they acclimate themselves to being in the real world. For those individuals that evolved from other breeds, the immersion factor is much less pronounced and tends to taper off sharply about an hour after the pokegirl manifests physically. Sexual preferences and skills are only slightly more difficult to customize than physical appearance, and as highly variable as appearance in the breed. Libido customization is also possible, but it is impossible to eliminate the need for taming without destroying the pokegirl completely (likewise with trying to eliminate the feral state).

Battling, like the breed's forms, is broken up into the physical realm and the virtual one. Physically, these pokegirls can utilize a variety of techniques, starting with mostly electrical and magnetic techniques. Through upgrades, the breed can take on a secondary element, along with the strengths and weaknesses of the element as well as elemental techniques. Along with other upgrades, this breed can be formidable in physical combat, or inept at it. Video Girls should be taken on an individual basis, though it should be noted that the Upgrade subtype, as mentioned previously, is usually much more experienced and likely to have more than a few tricks. The breed also has the advantage of being nearly immortal, as unless the life disk is damaged, the pokegirl can make a complete recovery.

Virtually, on the other hand, most members of the breed are almost invincible. The title "The Netmistress Pokegirl" is not simply for effect; there is little that can even approach their level. Adding to this, customization leads most to have some further specialty skill(s), resulting in a breed that many League Governments both covet and fear. The only true way to counter one of these virtual pokegirls is with others of their own breed. Needless to say, most Video Girls find themselves in some form of government service, as it's rather difficult for an individual possessing such a potentially powerful breed not to be influenced by either a government or a criminal faction, and those who fall in with the latter thankfully tend to be dealt with quite swiftly because of the extreme security risk they pose.

To date, no threshold directly into a Video Girl has been recorded, and it is thought that despite the existence of pre-evolutionary breeds, it would be life-threatening for a human girl to threshold directly into this electric type. More common in cases of pre-evolutionary ancestry are thresholds in to the pre-evolved breeds. Threshold directly into a Video Girl has tentatively been labeled impossible.
