Like most multi-evolutionary Pokégirls, a Chichi evolves when exposed to a Fire Stone, though oddly, the Chichi line is known for it's apparent swap in species from chinchilla based Pokégirl into a guinea pig based Pokégirl. This combined with their fire use had the Tamale listed as a stand alone Pokégirl until researchers discovered the oddity of the Chichi line's evolutions. Tamales themselves, however, have been often seen as somewhat low powered Pokégirls, and popular opinion rates them as just above Vestas in terms of usability in a tamer's harem.
Changing somewhat from their pre-evolved state, Tamales run a bell curve that averages out to 5' 4'', with the range being as short as 4' 8'' and as tall as 6'. Usually, this is an increase of height from their shorter pre-evolution, though there have been cases of shrinkage. This fire type breed shares the even range between furred and non-furred forms, though all individuals of the breed have rounded slightly floppy rodent ears and slightly bucked teeth. Their chests, to the chagrin of most, stay relatively the same size, perhaps increasing to a larger B cup. In non-furred individuals, the hair of the Pokégirl’s head is a random color, varying from white to black with many different colors and even patterns in between. Fully furred individuals keep this same coloration throughout their body, though the fur colors tend to be the vibrant fire colors more than earth tones. Tamales are a bit softer in terms of looks than the average Pokégirl, though many keep their average figures. The breed is prone to becoming overweight more than other breeds, simply because the Pokégirls physical nature is similar to that of a human's despite their hardiness.
These fire type rodents are known as the "Friendly Fire" Pokégirls, not because they're prone to accidentally harming their compatriots, but because they're actually quite amicable. Most of these Pokégirls have a kindness streak in them, and are known to take up the role of harem medic should a more healing-suited Pokégirl not be in the harem. Frequently, these guinea pig based Pokégirls are seen as assistants to Nursejoys in Pokécenters, or employed as such by pet owners. Occasionally, this extends to nursing small animals back to health as well. Many of the breed tend to panic easily, however, making an untrained Tamale a poor choice in combat or emergency situations. They can overcome this through training though.
Some Tamers use Tamales and their Chichi-spawned sisters as a furry alternative to the Sidekick. Among Tamers who absolutely can't stand to have Pokégirls without fur in their Harem, furry Tamales are highly valued as fire types in lieu of the furry members of the Firecat breed. Overall, these fiery rodents are decent combatants, though not on par of other Fire-types. They can learn, though, and can become fairly strong with proper training. Their battling style usually involves hurling fireballs at their opponents before closing and using their fire punches and kicks to pummel a foe. They loose their speed from when they were Chichis however, but gain instead a decent bit of durability and strength, allowing them to take and dish out more damage than they could as their chinchilla based pre-evolution.
Ferals of this breed dwell in dry regions normally. They love spicy grasses and fruits or vegetables, often raiding farms for such items as peppers and onions. In desert areas, they particularly seem to enjoy prickly pears, burning the spines off with their Ignite attack. For some reason, the seeds of the fruits become extremely fertile after passing through the fire type, which usually translates to unexplained oasis or odd fruits and vegetables growing wild, especially if there are Aguamiels in the area. An unexpected twist to this is a common point among Tamales: they all adore Plant-type Pokégirls. Those rodent Pokégirls in a Harem are quick to befriend any and all Plant-type Harem Sisters, and often follow them around when not needed by their Tamer. Research has shown this is due to many of the plant types being able to grow food for the ferals, though when domesticated, the Tamale breed adores those types who can heal or boost their relatively flat chests. Those in the wild have even gone so far as to stalk Plant-types in the hopes of getting a Taming. Most Plant-types are understandably nervous having a Fire-type so interested in them, and even the most hardened and confident Plant-types get unnerved after being shadowed by a Tamale for long enough.
Thresholds directly into the Tamale are rare, but not unheard of, since many girls have enough rodent type ancestry in addition to fire type ancestry available to make the transition. Threshold into a Vesta is more likely, however, though the two thresholds are never mis-diagnosed, as human girls thresholding into Tamales become much more cuddlesome, their warm embrace elevating their temperature greatly. Depending on how animalistic the girl becomes, this is sometimes mistaken for hives or an allergic reaction, since the fur growing in itches terribly.
