“Behold, Kaiba! I shall now reveal the true power of my deck!” The cloaked figure shouted.

Kaiba sighed. The two were standing on top of a skyscraper, their clothes blowing in the fierce wind as they dueled. Honestly, Kaiba was bored. So far, the cloaked figure had put up only a token resistance, and they weren’t to the point where the figure would explain his/her grudge against him. Probably one of those whiny types whose family he had inadvertently crushed while running his company. He sighed again, barely paying attention as the figure droned on and on.

“….. My family will not rest until I have dealt with you, Kaiba! Prepare to die! Now, I activate my spell card, Different Dimension Gate! Remove Blue-Eyes White Dragon from the game!” The Spell card burst onto the field, drawing in the figure’s Fortune Lady Light and his dragon. Kaiba gasped. The figure, noticing this, crowed with delight. “Didn’t expect that, did you? Ha!”

Kaiba gasped again, though not from shock. This hurt, hurt in a way that he hadn’t felt since that Shadow Games nonsense. He felt like he was being sucked through a straw, like he could feel his bones turn to water and seep through a screen door. The Blue-Eyes White Dragon roared, and Kaiba heard something inside him echoing his dragon. He screamed, the cloaked figure looking on in shock as he slowly started to disappear along with the monsters on the field. Kaiba blacked out, the pain pulling him forward and into darkness.

                                                                ***************************

A green canopy spread overhead, with hints of blue sky visible through the leafy blanket. Kaiba groaned. His head still hurt from…. whatever had just happened. He sat up slowly, trying to clear his head. Slowly the pain faded, prompting him to look around in irritation. “Where the hell am I?” He asked no one in particular.

“I don’t know, but die!” Screamed an unfamiliar voice. Kaiba looked up in shock and barely managed to roll to the side, pain forgotten as a burst of multicolored light exploded on the ground where he had been sitting. He rolled to his feet, spotting his attacker floating in midair to his left. He threw himself to the side again, narrowly missing getting impaled by a second spear of multicolored energy. He pulled a card out of his deck, activating the Ring of Defense card and blocking the next attack.

“Hmph. Seems like another one of those virtual reality programs. That cloaked bastard must have knocked me out somehow and stuck me in here to teach me a lesson or something.” Kaiba took a moment to examine his attacker, as she shrieked her fury as Ring of Defense continued to block her attack. She stood about 5 feet tall, with white skin and bobbed blonde hair and yellow eyes. She wore a skimpy black leotard that showed plenty of skin, with a yellow skirt and shirt that looked pretty ragged. Kaiba recognized her as the Fortune Lady Light that the cloaked figure had been using. “That clinches it. That crazy bastard put her in here to mess with me.”

He started to pull out another card to take out the Lady, but paused as he suddenly felt weak and dropped to his knees. The Ring of Defense faded, causing the Lady to crow with delight and prepare another multicolored spear. Suddenly, a white-haired figure with a short, reptilian tail jumped out of the trees, tackling the Lady to the ground and throwing off her aim. The newcomer slashed the Lady viciously, the blonde screaming as lines of blood appeared against her pale skin. Light went down, whimpering softly as she bled, the white-haired girl standing over her and heaving. Then the girl rushed over to Kaiba. “Master, are you all right?” She asked softly, helping him to stand. He nodded and staggered away from her, coming upright with an effort.

“I’m fine. Who the hell are….” He trailed off, staring into her face. “You…. You’re Kisara! What is going on here?” He demanded. The white-haired girl looked as shell-shocked as he did.

“I don’t know, Master. The last thing I knew, we were fighting that cloaked man, and then he used that card, and I started to get sucked into it, and then you got attacked by that girl.” She said, motioning to the still moaning Light. “Master, who is Kisara?” she asked tentatively.

“You are… aren’t you? You look just like her, from my memories….” The girl shook her head, her tail lashing.

“Sir, I’m your Blue-Eyes. I don’t know why I look like this now, but I’m glad I was able to save you from that monster.” Kaiba stared at her for a minute, almost blushing as he realized she wasn’t wearing any clothes, then snapped out of his reverie as Light moaned again.

“Go do something about her. Tie her up or something, I don’t care.” He stared at the girl as she moved to tie up the magic user, thinking frantically. He didn’t see how the cloaked figure could have gotten the image of Kisara out of his mind, and he’d never told anyone about her from his time in the Pharaoh’s memories. It meant he must have some sort of control over this virtual reality, probably linking images from his own head to the interface and using them to manipulate the code. The nakedness was probably some sick joke and he could ignore it. If that was the case, then he could find some way to break out of here and go kick the bastard’s ass. Maybe the Fortune Lady knew something…

He headed over to where Kisara had silenced the moaning Lady by the simple expedient of hitting her in the head until she shut up. He stood over the girl, trying to ignore how the slashes had torn her clothes to reveal even more skin, if that was possible.  “What’s going on here?” He asked for the second time in as many minutes. The girl glared at him, seeming to be trying to disable him through sheer force of will. He glared back, causing the girl to shrink back as he turned the full force of his annoyance on her.

“I don’t know, you bastard. My wonderful master had just activated his most powerful card, the Different Dimension Gate, simultaneously getting rid of your precious dragon and allowing me to use my ability. It was a master stroke, and he was just about to finish you when disappeared like a coward and robbed my master of his victory. I don’t know how I got here, but when you cheated you must have stolen my card and done something to it, so I decided to finish you in the name of my master! Dieeee… gurhk!” She was cut off as Kisara put her clawed foot on her throat, stopping the rest of her tirade and dispelling the magical energy she was gathering. Kaiba snorted.

“I? Cheated? Coward? Ha! Your “master” has balls to accuse the great Seto Kaiba of cheating at anything! I’ll show him!” He turned and shouted at the sky. “Pull me out of here right now, you bastard! I’ll kick your ass, Kaibacorp style!” He whirled as Kisara put her hand on his shoulder. “What?”

“Master, I don’t think he had anything to do with it. Light seems to think we did it, and I’m sure you saw the look on his face before we disappeared. He was caught totally off guard.” Kaiba hurrumped.

“So what do you think happened, Blue-Eyes?” He said sarcastically. Kisara looked hurt, but pressed on.

“I think his Different Dimension Gate actually pulled us into the Duel Monster dimension. I don’t know why I look like this, but I get the same feeling as when I’m at home. And you summoned that Ring of Defense, which normally only would be physical in the Spirit World.”

Kaiba looked away. “I don’t believe in magic. This is all some fancy hologram that is linked up to my brain and pulling your image out of it. None of this is real!” He whirled, pointing an accusing finger at Kisara. “You aren’t real!” He yelled. “I’m going to find my way home. If you aren’t going to be helpful, then you can stay here!” He turned and stalked off, studiously ignoring the look on her face and the soft sounds of crying as he marched resolutely off.

“It’s just an illusion, it’s trying to make you believe it. Well I won’t. I’m Seto Freaking Kaiba, and I won’t give that bastard the satisfaction of seeing me fall for it. Just try me, bastard!” He thought angrily. He walked a distance before he slowed, realizing that he had no idea where he was going.  He paused for thought, then pulled out his deck and started looking through it. Suddenly he stopped, looking at one card in particular, his Blue-Eyes White Dragon, the one he’d had for the longest time. It was blank, with the text and the stats, but no picture. Just empty whiteness.

“You bastard, quit screwing around!” He yelled at no one. He slowly recovered himself, then pulled out the card Kaiser Glider and summoned it. He climbed on its back and took off, the dragon’s wings working as it gained height. Wheeling in the sky, Kaiba spotted a village and urged the dragon toward it, slowly gliding toward the ground and finally disappearing as Kaiba dropped to the ground and rolled. He waited to catch his breath for a moment, then stood and marched toward the village he had seen.

Blue-Eyes slowly stood, her eyes red with tears but her expression resolute. Her master had told her to stay there, but only if she wasn’t going to be helpful. She would show master, she would be the most helpful monster he had ever had and prove herself to him again. She knew they were in the Spirit World, she just knew it. It felt the same as it did in her home, with the feel of power singing in the air, so much more energy than had ever existed in the human world. She whirled at a cracking noise, staring at Light as she tried unsuccessfully to sneak away.

“You!” Blue-Eyes said. “Tell me where we are!” Light looked scared, but she seemed to not be able to resist as she smiled at the dragon’s discomfort.

“You mean you don’t know? Your master took us here and abandoned you, and you don’t even know what he did? Ha, that’s a laugh. Some master…” She choked off as Blue-Eyes slammed her against a tree.

“No one insults my master!” She spat, shoving the spellcaster so hard she left an impression in the wood.  “Tell me what happened!”

Light kept smiling. “I told you, I don’t know, bitch. I don’t know why we’re here, or where here is, or anything.”

Blue-Eyes narrowed her eyes. “Well, then, you’re just going to come along with me until I find out where we are and where my master is. Do something about your clothes.” She commanded imperiously, gesturing at her torn dress. “We’ll set out to find my master and help him get back to his world. Then your master can finish whatever business he had.” Light nodded, slowly, then tied off the loose ends of her dress and stood up. Blue-Eyes stalked off into the woods, with Light limping along behind her.

                                                ***********************************

Kaiba walked confidently into town, his white trench coat billowing out behind him as he ignored the people on the sidewalk and even more pointedly ignored the half-naked women who accompanied most of them. He stopped in front of the largest building in town, a huge 5-acre, domed building that reminded him of the Kaibadome. He paused, then stalked inside and stood impatiently next to the reception desk. A cure girl with obvious bunny ears sat behind it, looking bored. She had looked up when he walked in and her expression brightened.

“Welcome, sir, have you come to challenge the Stalixes Gym?” She asked brightly.

“Tell me how to get out of here. I want to fight that damned bastard! I imagine that in order to get out of here, I’m going to have to beat some sort of challenges or nonsense like that, so just tell me who all the strongest duelists around are and I’ll beat them into the ground and make them talk.” The Bunnygirl’s smile had quickly melted in the face of Kaiba’s blowtorch of anger, her ears drooping.

“Sir, if you want to challenge, I’ll need to see your Pokedex and verify that you are registered to fight here.” She said rapidly, taking refuge in the list of things to say that had been taped to the inside of her desk. Kaiba snorted.

“You don’t know who I am? I’m Seto Kaiba! Let me in now, or I’ll have you fired!” The Bunnygirl collapsed even more in the face of Kaiba’s will, practically cowering behind her desk in an effort to get away from the yelling man.

“Say now, what’s all this then? What’s all the hubbub about?” asked a man curiously as he walked into the room. The Bunnygirl eeped and slid even further under her desk, now literally hiding under it as Kaiba turned to the newcomer.

“You! Tell me who I need to fight to get out of this virtual reality!” Kaiba demanded. The man stared, one eyebrow raised in an expression of total disbelief.

“Well, if it’s a gym battle you want, just give the nice Bunny your Pokedex and she’ll see if you’re eligible.” The newcomer looked over at the cowering Bunnygirl and sighed. “On second thought, maybe just give your Pokedex to me and I’ll do it. You need to be more careful, scaring the help could get you thrown out.”

Kaiba ignored the Bunnygirl and snorted. “Whatever. I could care less about your rules. You want to see my deck? Fine, I’ll still beat you even if you know the whole thing.” He pulled his deck out of his Duel Disk and handed it over. The man stared, dumbfounded. He looked down at the deck, then looked up at Kaiba’s dangerous grin, then gave a slow, nervous smile.

“Alright, sir, this all looks to be in order. Could you please come with me?” He watched Kaiba until Kaiba gave a short nod, then relaxed slightly and edged towards the door. As Kaiba followed the man down the hall, the Bunnygirl glowed suddenly and evolved into a Ingenue under her desk. Kaiba followed the man into a small arena and the man pointed Kaiba to stand in the middle. As Kaiba brushed past him, the man pulled a pokeball off his belt and released an Armsmistress.

“Cindy, capture that man!” The man said quietly, as he dived off to the side in case it turned violent. Cindy rushed forward and body-checked Kaiba, then pulled him off the floor where he sprawled and put him in a full nelson. Kaiba struggled, but couldn’t break free from her enhanced strength.

“Master John, what now?” the pokegirl asked. John pulled out another ball and released a Dash.

“Veronica, go tell the police that we have a deluded and possibly dangerous man at the gym. Cindy, put him out, gently if you please.” Kaiba increased his struggling until a blow took him the base of the neck and he blacked out again.
